While there are stipulations in the bill that say "utilities would be required to produce 15 percent of their electricity from renewable sources by 2020" this seems a little crazy.

It would be like handing a drug addict (we are addicted to oil) a plate of their favorite toxin and saying, "Here, these are to help you quit."

What?!?!

This move will spur nothing but greater dependence on oil, more power for oil companies, and mo' problems.

Also, this is sooooo election year politics. Pelosi (the liberal San Franciscan? wrote this bill in secret and brought it to congress late at night with no discussion - according to news sources)

Amen. I heard the numbers that say if we drill, we'll have enough oil for the next 60 years....then what? Then, with absolutely no reserves left we're really screwed.

I have a question, has anyone heard or seen any language that promises to keep any of this US oil actually IN the US? What's to keep the oil companies from selling it internationally?
