I live about an hour southwest of Ft. Worth Texas and there have been these fighter jets flying over our house all day. What is going on? Would it
be because of the hurricane? Why would fighter jets need to go check out the hurricane? This is VERY unusual for this area.
Maybe they were headed south initially along a flight path? Generally, planes don't fly directly from A-B, they have to follow corridors. Not
saying its not anything out of the ordinary, just offering a possible explanation.
Considering the location and the timing, it was probably due to Hurricane Ike. Just because they were going south doesn't mean they are going to end
up south. That may have been the most effective passage to avoid conflicts with commerical flights.
