Well, let's take a look at the top killers in the United States.
Here are the number of deaths for the leading causes of death in 2005:
www.cdc.gov...
-Heart disease: 652,091
-Cancer: 559,312
-Stroke (cerebrovascular diseases): 143,579
-Chronic lower respiratory diseases: 130,933
-Accidents (unintentional injuries): 117,809
-Diabetes: 75,119
-Alzheimer's disease: 71,599
-Influenza/Pneumonia: 63,001
What about the power of proper nutrition? That alone could possibly prevent Stroke, Heart Disease, Diabetes(Type 2) and some would argue Influenza
and even Cancer.
Lower respiratory diseases, well, I think we can all agree that not smoking could prevent most of them.
Alzheimer's patients have high aluminum content in the brain. How this happens and whether or not it contributes to the onset of the disease is
unknown. However, many of our skin products and even tap water all contain aluminum(i.e., Antiperspirants)
The USDA recommendations are getting better by the year but the general population is still oblivious as to what proper nutrition is. Doctor's,
nutritionists, personal trainers and the media, all, for the most part, don't understand proper nutrition.
Think nutrition doesn't account for most of it? Take Heart Disease as an example. How many people died of heart disease in the early part of last
century. Hardly any! And in case you're wondering, our diet was quite different as well.
All that leaves us with is Accidents. You could stay at home and never do anything. Of course, you gotta get up sometime, and you might throw a hip
or something.
Ouch!
