CERN causes solar halo in India

telegraphindia.com

A halo around the sun seen from Siliguri this morning triggered curiosity as well as rumours as it coincided with the start of the Big Bang experiment in Geneva.

When the aura around the sun became visible around 11.30am, the people of the town started making calls to their near and dear ones, trying to gauge what exactly the phenomenon was.

Burst of light in the sky, sudden darkness and now this. Could this be connected? It happened exactly at the time of starting of the LHC. The CERN has created quite a flutter here in India with a girl committing suicide yesterday over 'end of the world' fears.

Halos in the sky are caused by ice crystals forming in the atmosphere. As the light passes through the ice it makes it appear like a halo is around the sun and moon. I do not believe it is very common, I have only seen it once in my lifetime. Nothing to do with the particle accelerator.

That's not "natural". The liars in charge can create as many excuses as they want to explain it, but when people start ringing each other going "WTF is going on?", it's something not normal.

And the day it happened is just the icing on the cake.

CERN is about something sinister. There is no "experiment". They know precisely what it will do when it is used, and they don't want anyone to know about it.

Opening portals to hell to let their mates through...

Fact:

There's been mass hysteria in India over the Hadron Collider - thousands have flocked to pray, and there was that report of a teenage girl taking her own life.

Of course, an Indian newspaper is going to look at an ice crystal halo around the sun (where's our resident weather guy...) and say it has to do with the Collider.

I've seen it before, even around the moon on a frosty night.

Yup I've seen it many times too, night and day.

This is pretty silly. What next? A harvest moon pops up and people blame CERN?

Well, I don't know what to say about your post tirades other than to say you sure do give me a chuckle lol. Do you really believe these posts you make or are you really trying for the chuckle you've provided me with?

... I see them on most days in the winter here, not quite as often in the fall, spring and summer.
It's just ice crystals in the upper atmosphere.

Not natural. lol.

We must be doing some really wacky experiments every winter then, cause I'm quite used to seeing that.

Yeah, those things usually happen in weather that's a bit colder than normal, and most often it's due to high levels of moisture that has crystalized in the upper atmosphere. It would be worth finding out what the weather was at that particular location in India.

Here's a photo I took of a moon halo in Sydney late on the night of July 19.

It was the night the Pope held mass here in Sydney, and there were about 200,000 'pilgrims' sleeping outdoors where the exhibition was held - I'm sure some of them thought it was some sort of sign as well. The air that night smelled funny BTW, and some people brought up concerns of there being weather modification for the event.

Anyway, they're pretty rare in Sydney & I haven't seen once since. I really doubt the halo had to do with CERN, I would be more likely to bet that it was HAARP or something.

Indian people by nature are very superstitious. They will see ominous things in just about every natural ocurance which is a reaction to the relifgion they have been taught. bad timing for them, but proly just a natural halo.

I don't know anything about about a halo, but I'd like to hear more about the bursts of light and sudden darkness which both happen the same day the LHC was activated? I hadn't heard anything about that...

A side note, if people were seriously worried about this thing causing the end of the world Wed. they were sadly misinformed.

First of all, the "big bang experiment" was not even an experiment (yet). It was a simple system test.. Particles won't start smashing into each other until later this month.. But the machine won't be operating under full power for months.. You could just as easily claim that I had to work today because of CERN. That doesn't really make sense though does it? You can try to link everything you want to CERN but there is absolutely no way to actually prove such a correlation exists other than the timing. And that, in itself, doesn't prove anything.

Naturally, earthly phenomenons will happen regardless of whether or not CERN is even on.. The LHC is fresh in everyone's minds because of the news coverage, so when people see phenomenon they might wonder if what they see is somehow happening because of the LHC.. All this hubub about black holes and the destruction of the earth caused by the LHC, so why not a sky halo on the other side of the planet? People try to link these things with no justifiable reason to assume such a correlation even exists in the first place.. The entire ring system of the LHC is sheilded anyway. And they haven't even started smashing anything together yet.

The doomsday theories, the groups protesting the treatment of hadrons at CERN (when nothing has even happened to the hadrons yet), we've seen this kind of stuff before right before other atom smashers were turned on.. But nothing ever happened with those.. And now the attention is all over the LHC because of the fringe lunatics who think that either a quasar is going to just pop into existence at the LHC or that a black hole is, for no justifiable reason at all, going to grow exponentially and swallow the earth.. It's nuts guys..

The CERN-LHC only tested One-Way Proton acceleration today. They do not begin Collisions until October of this year. With safety in mind, they will gradually crank up the power until 1 Year from Now, when the LHC will then reach Full-Power.

The Black Holes which will created by the LHC will be so minute, and weak, that one of them could not even power your average household Incandescent lightbulb.

Wow, I am amazed by the amount of uninformed people that are getting round, I could possibly understand people who don't bother to look into things beyond what they hear on tv.

But the amount of members on this forum that are so ignorant to the facts is incredible. You would think that being on this site you have the ability to find these facts quite easily..but no obviously not.

I wonder if there is anyone here who believes that this halo in India is related to CERN can tell me why it happened there?....why not in the immediate area of where the collider is?

Hi guys I am an Indian and according to the looks of the people it seems that no one cares about the lhc and most of the people dont even know about it, it is just the media spreading the doomsday predictions like the one here just for increasing viewers and becoming popular.

And when I asked some persons who were dicussing about it on the road whether they knew what is going to cause the end of the world, they said in this tv channel it was said that in switzerland they are doing some risky stuff and the world is going to end.

Anyway the TV channels here dont air a single news properly they try to confuse people as much as they can and if you listen you can realise that the news readers only say a single sentence in different forms for five minutes.

That makes me laugh all day.

I agree with you 100% bud. The girl that took her own life in India probably shoudve googled some facts first. Im sorry, and death isnt something to laugh at, especially suicide, but when people do it because they are so ignorant, it makes me wonder how society ever got this way...

CERN?? What a ridiculous idea!

Everybody knows that all unusual looking atmospheric phenomena are caused by HAARP

Dude they haven't collided any particles yet.
Wtf don't you understand about that?
What they have done only already is nothing they haven't done before.
They just fired beams around the tubes.
They don't collide the particles until 22nd of October.
What ever is happening with the sun has absolutely nothing to do with what they did yesterday.
