Indonesia issues tsunami alert after strong quake

Indonesia's meteorology agency issued a tsunami warning on Thursday after a strong quake, measured at 7.6 on the Richter scale, hit the eastern Indonesian Moluccas islands.

This just came through...

And another one seems to have struck off Japan:

It's been adjusted to a 6.6 by the USGS as of the time of this post.

Regardless, those were two big bumps really close together. The Japanese one is listed as 7.2 as of now.

I hope no tsunami's are caused by the two of these.

The Earth is ticked off because we are playing around with things like HARRP and Cern

Some things should be left alone IMO esp when it comes to mother nature

But yes i know people will say this is just normal, but the quakes are big

What's interesting is that the two quakes were within minutes of each other - I don't think the Indonesian plate shares with the Japan plate, but I suppose they might interact. Even if they did, a few minutes between them is extraordinary.

There's no reports of damage or casualties just yet, thankfully.

Wasn't there a recent big quake in Iran, too? Definitely some tectonic shenanigans going on.
