How We Transport Nukes Everyday

Even though this is from an anarchist's website, there are some really good finds here. Obviously nukes have to be transported in someway, and this is how they get it done. I never heard of a case where someone tried to hijack these rigs. I wouldn't even think about it. After about an hour, the whole National Guard would be after you. This is a huge deal, but in Russia and it's USSR allies, bombs get traded and stolen everyday

Do they know anything about the first two atomic bomb transportation?

Old WWII news reels say a submarine brought one across the Pacific.

Did Los Alamos ever reveal how operations went. I mean IRAN
knows all the secrets, why not open some vaults at Los Alamos?

Oh boy I need to step in here.First of all the USS Indianapolis delivered the 2 weapons to Tinian .They would not have been able to get them on a submarine,way to big.

Now,the vehicles you are trying to link to are NOT owned or operated by a commercial carrier,nor do they have any markings to indicate they do.
They are called Safe Secure Trailer (SST) and Safeguards Transporter (SGT).Operated by DOE the drivers are highly trained ex-military.Not necessarily Spec war, but still well trained and well armed,very well armed. All the vehicles are armored. The escort vehicles are usually dark colored Suburbans.There are usually three of them.Four in each vehicle.They are WELL armed with everything you can imagine.

The semi-tractor(STG) is heavily armored as well.Cat engine with automatic transmissions,no grabbing gears here. The cab over vehicle has a sleeper but it has two seats in back,no bed.There are four well armed men inside.Well armed. There are firing ports.Run flat tires, automatic sanders for slick roads.

They are in CONSTANT contact with their dispatch in New Mexico.Now days they even have real time video of where they are. There is always aerial armed support somewhere up there,Always.

Every law enforcement officer,knows that there is a "special mission" coming through their sector. They may not no who or what but they or their superior know.Always. No SST/STG has EVER been pulled over by a trooper. Pity the one that does.

The transport trailer(SST). Standard with of a trailer is 96 inches(8 Feet). these look normal enough on the out side. Open the 12" thick back doors and climb inside,a normal person can put their arms out from their sides and lay their palms flat against the wall.Yes their thick. The top and bottom is that thick too.

Look up and you see nozzles coming out of the ceiling. They carry a chemical on board actually two.One they purge the air out and put inside.The second one comes out of the nozzle.

There are a number of ways this system can be activated.One is from the cab by the team leader. Two is from any of the escorts by the team leader(each vehicle is a team). Thirdly from control. Finally there is a inclinometer(I hope I spelled that right).

If the trailer get off level by a certain degree,such as tipping over. Once this happens the entire inside of the trailer is filled with expanding foam that gets harder than concrete.
Bring a jack hammer,you'll need it and about a month.

One actually ran of the road in Pennsylvania in the late 70's early 80's time frame on a slick road.Rolled down a hillside. Of course you didn't here about it,but it happened. When they got the trailer back to Pantex,it took them a month to jack hammer the foam out. But the devices were not harmed.

I use to load and unload these vehicles about once a month.I can spot them on the road in an instant, but most people can't.They do run government plates though.An their headlights are brighter because they run multiple alternators.

You would really have to have a death wish to mess with these guys though.

Congratulations...if indeed what you have said is true you have just passed sensitive information in public.Not only have you stated the composition of what one of these convoys is like,you have detailed the amount of personnel involved.
Now if i wanted to mount an operation against one of these convoys now i have a good idea of what size of force to use if i was a terrorist.

Thanks for that response that really makes it more understandable. Yes the USS Indianapolis did deliver two atomic bombs but not THE two. It was sunk, and its crew floated and waited for rescue. The floating survivors encountered the worst shark attack in human history. And no way we could stage an attack on these trailers. If you do get past the initial defense of armed personal with greased submachine guns, high powered rifles, and expert marksmanship. good luck. but once you get these, every National Guard Unit would be on you in less than 2 hours. We DO NOT plan to use this board to as a planning stage to attack these trailers

He has posted information that should be restricted to say the least..and that is coming from someone who knows a lot more about the subject than you do..from a UK perspective.
You have no idea who is reading ATS threads;Intelligence agencies etc or the other end of the spectrum.And as for saying that no one could stage an attack on a convoy think again..terrorists are no mugs and have proved time and time again to be adaptable and intelligent when it comes to attacking the West.
As nuclear weapons/technology is the no 1 on the terrorists wish list any information such as this would prove a boon to them..

I am well aware that ATS has been taken over by a group of IGNORANT juveniles,that believe the world did not exist before they were born.

This is in no way "Sensitive" information.Years ago probably when you were a child, there was even a television documentary on it,probably on PBS I believe. It followed their training at Oak Ridge,Tenn. and showed the trailer.The trucks are not made in secret,nor are the trailers,or anything about their ability to protect the cargo.There was also a television movie about an attempt. The FEDS allowed the documentary about them to be made to debunk the BS TV movie.I believe it was called SST.

This too was probably when you were a child.


The government allows some of this information to be public knowledge so the public knows how well it is protected.WHAT the public DOES NOT KNOW,is their routes,schedules,etc. And I am certain that if you are as ignorant as you seem to be from your statement,they would drive right pass you and you would not even know it.

Even if you HAD taken the time to follow the link,it even mentions some of the information.

Thanks for the great operations and hardware information on nuke transport.
Any one hear that the A Bombs might have been flown across the
Pacific.
The flight to Japan and back was quite an accomplishment.
Years ago just finding the details of the first two might only be
done in super tight Intel circles.

Intel was most likely handling this operation.
To say it was shipped might be just a way to throw off snoops
because people in the know about a flight would know to keep shut
about an air transport.

Why ship when it was built to fly and B-29s were in production.

I don't know about now, but back in the 80's when the Minuteman wing was active out of Whiteman AFB, only a fool's fool would have done anything.

The missile convoy would have a US Marshall in a marked car (lead) and all the Missouri Troopers he needed to block highways and intersections. The truck was an armored semi with a heavy trailer. There were always a couple of wheeled armored personnel carriers in front of and 3 more behind the truck. This gave a total of 20 to 25 men for security although some may have been techs to work on the missiles. Regardless, they were all armed with a wide assortment of weapons including shoulder fired LARS rockets. A Cobra was overhead and would hover over the silo while work was being done. These guy did not play around nor slow down too much going through small towns when heading out to different silos. Military branch was USAF on security, never saw any other service.

Perhaps my post regarding the convoy I saw was a similar transport? Please have a look...

yes, it probably was. But even though, they do need protection, they try to keep it as simple as possible. Even a retard would know that there is something valuable in there. I don't know about a Cobra heli flying over the convoy, but at the base they do fly patrol. Armed patrols are not out of suspicion. But believe me, Nukes get transported everyday, including artillery pieces, guns, grenades, armor, cars, rockets, and ships. right under our noses. The easiest to spot is, YES, a nuke. because it needs that protection.
