Gang forces teen from home at knifepoint (This happened to me and my mates!)

www.news.com.au

A TEENAGER has been kidnapped at knifepoint and assaulted by a group of youths who had earlier terrorised him at his northern New South Wales home.

Police say the group threw bricks at a car and through the windows of a house in Heffron Street, Tweed Heads, about 7.30pm (AEST) yesterday.

"Four of the group ... then confronted the 16-year-old male inside the house and forced him into a car,'' police said.

The abducted youth was driven to a bushland near the Tweed Coolangatta Golf Course and assaulted.

The group then drove off.

The injured teenager, who suffered facial cuts, was picked up by a passer-by and driven to Tweed Heads Hospital.

This actually happened to my friends and I!
We were sitting in the living room of my friend Jamie's house and a brick flew through the window, and about 20 guys ran in with trolley bars (the metal bars inside trolley handles), knives and machetes and started bashing everyone. Most of us got away, but they grabbed my friend Jason and threw him in a car and drove off with him. They then drove around for about an hour bashing him until they finally dumped him in some bushland.
He said that the whole time it was happening they were discussing whether they should kill him because he knew their names and faces.
Contrary to what the article says, he is actually 17 and he was not picked up by a passer by, he walked all the way to the local bowls club and collapsed from blood-loss. He just got out of hospital and is making a full recovery =)

When I first read this my first thought was London, but its actually in Austrailia.

That sounds like a horrific experience for your friend for 1 hour with them and them even discussing to kill him.

Damn sheep.

Edit: why does the news story seem so different to your story?

Well we have had a lot of problems with the group, they walk around the streets at night 'rolling' (bashing and robbing) people, and it has happened to most of my mates. When they ran in they were screaming about one of their friends cars being smashed up, so we think they might have mistaken us for another group.
I dont know why the news story is so different lol, we were made to give statements to police that were at least 9 paragraphs long (that took hours) and the news interviewers just seemed to twist the story around a bit.

HEY AUSTRALIA!!!

Have you considered legalizing handguns?

I mean really, think about it.

Because if I move there, I am bringing an arsenal.

Our gun laws were restricted when a certain Martin Bryant walked into a certain Tasmanian cafe and opened up on the crowd killing 30 odd people.

So the government, in all it's infinite wisdom, decided to make our gun laws extremely strict.

I have yet to see the murder rate go down as a result of this. People just get killed a lot more by knives and other implements. Personally I'd prefer getting shot in the head than being sliced up.

So have the local police rounded up this gang of hoolums? That's my big question, or is no one doing anything?

Yeah 5 of them have been arrested, and the oldest who is 19 is facing 20 years in jail according to one of the police officers who has been keeping us updated. The rest of them are only 15-17 so they will probably get a couple years in juvie.

Update:

Police have charged a 20-year-old man over the abduction, assault and robbery of a 17-year-old on the New South Wales far north coast last week. Police say a group of about a dozen youths armed with batons and knives threw stones at a house in Tweed Heads South at about 7:00pm (AEST) last Thursday. They then entered the building and allegedly threatened the four men and a woman who were inside. Four of the occupants managed to escape and seek help at a service station, but police allege one man was forced into a nearby car at knife-point. Police say the 17-year-old was driven to bushland on Kirkwood Road where he was assaulted, robbed and pushed into the Tweed River. He managed to walk to a nearby club for assistance, and was taken to Tweed Heads Hospital suffering cuts, facial injuries and a fracture to his back. Police arrested a 20-year-old man at a home in Tweed Heads South late yesterday afternoon. He was taken to Tweed Heads Police Station, questioned, then charged with take/detain in company for advantage and aggravated robbery. He was refused bail and is due to appear at Lismore Local Court today. Police are continuing investigations and anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
