Wow. This is a very low, immoral thing for the Alaskan Democrats to do. I'll bet the biased left wing media doesn't even pay attention to these kind of dirty tricks the dem's pull, with Obama being their eternal golden boy.

This is what kills me. Everyone here, both left and right, claim that the 'biased ___' (insert liberal or conservative) media does or doesn't pay attention to the so-called dirty (okay, they are) tricks being played by _____ (insert democratic OR republican) party. You see, BOTH sides are claiming the SAME THING! That the MSM is controlled or biased THE OTHER WAY than their political stance is.

It's a flipping joke and quite frankly it embarrasses me that so many have fallen for this 'they' and 'them' when it's BOTH sides playing YOU!

Is it right what they did? No. Period. I'm just sick of the 'extremes' coming on this site and pointing fingers at the other side when THEIR side is just as guilty. It's called hipocrisy.

Who has the most to gain from all of these "atrocious" attacks on Palin?

If you can raise enough brain power to answer the above question then you will know who is actually behind it.

These attacks were more than likely self inflicted or lateral.

Those who are behind these shenanigans are making enemies of the press very quickly (I mean like as I am writing this). The media does not like manipulated by politicians. The media will not let the politicos make unsubstantiated claims of being attacked by unproven ,unattributable and vague attackers. The media does not control the message but they do control the moment. The media does not accept blame lightly. Blaming the media is a very dangerous game to play.

Interesting thoughts, but in my opinion this has nothing to do with the media. The media will report whatever they believe is news worthy, and if biased whatever they believe will favor their bias.

Again, I ask who has the most to gain by attacks on Palin?

I agree completely.

And in regard to who has the most to gain by doing such a thing, I think that would include most everyone outside of the McCain camp or McCain supporters.

I agree that this is a blow below the belt.

I would rather hunt with Dick than have a Vice-Pres without one.

How can you expect us to listen to your point of view when you put up garbage like this.

Is that upon what you are basing your vote? Wow.

I think I'll go read posts where the people have actually researched the candidates and are basing their vote on something that makes a difference.

What if...

The Republicans chose Palin, knowing these attacks would come causing Clinton supporters to come to "their side" to demonize the democrats as sexists, to create sympathy and adoration for Palin, to make the democrats seem petty, and what IF they are actually aiding covertly in the attacks on Palin to achieve their anticipated results?

That is what I was what I was implying. Self inflicted (McCain campaign) or lateral (through connections in the party or affiliations outside of the party). I brought up the media because the campaign has declared war on the media and is attacking the media in order to gain sympathy. They set them up with the teases of stories and leads that they could not ignore and are blaming them for adding fuel to the attacks from the "unseen" an unable to pinpoint enemy.

Yes, I've heard that 'what if' theory and I don't buy it.

I think the Dems were caught off-guard, weren't prepared to 'attack' her on actual issues and started in on anything they could.

I've read speculation that its a mixture of Obama and Ron Paul supporters that are fueling all of this but I'm dismissing that it's from the Ron Paul people ... I really don't think they would lower themselves to that kind of tactic.

And no, I'm not saying that because I'm a Ron Paul supporter.

Funny you say that. Did you catch the Daily Show last night? It was GREAT...

Wednesday night on "The Daily Show," Jon Stewart hit Karl Rove and Bill O'Reilly with damning evidence of their hypocrisy regarding Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin.

While Rove recently praised Palin's experience as the mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, Stewart showed video of Rove trashing Virginia Governor — and former Richmond Mayor — Tim Kaine's executive experience, listing all the cities that are bigger than Richmond and calling such a pick "political."

Then, after recent video of O'Reilly describing Bristol Palin's pregnancy as a family issue, Stewart showed a clip of the Fox News host blaming Jamie Lynn Spears' parents for her teenage pregnancy.

Finally, after showing video of Dick Morris complaining about the rampant sexism in the media coverage of Sarah Palin, Stewart unveiled a clip of Morris saying that Hillary hides behind the sexism defense, and that anytime "the big boys" pick on Hillary, "she retreats behind the apron strings."

"In Dick Morris' defense," Stewart said, "he is a lying sack of sh*t."
