Is Sarah Palin in danger of being replaced on the Republican ticket?

There is rampant speculation that John McCain is feeling pressure to replace Palin on the Republican ticket.

"Bristolgate", "troopergate" and "the experience problem" are just a few of the issues that now have many McCain advisors seriously regretting the choice of Palin.

Highly unlikely. Conservatives would unload McCain if he throws Palin under the bus.

It is expected that Fred Thompson will begin the first wave of defense for Palin tonight during his primetime speech at the RNC. This is consistent with his activities of the last couple of days (in fact, he was defending her on Fox News just this morning) so I certainly believe this will be the case.

If she was properly vetted, wouldn't they have known all this about her beforehand?

I think she may be in danger of being replaced, but not for any of the reasons listed in that blog. I think the reason might be that people just don't like her. Whoever picked her probably thought the voting public (mostly women) would just adore her and I think that's turning out to not be the case.

Of course, the die-hard Republicans and right wing love her. But they were voting for McCain anyway. They're not getting the Hill voted they thought they would get, so... Next!

This Hillary Democrat Won't Vote for Palin
Only Hillary's Uneducated Voters Will Vote for Palin
Palin, You're no Hillary Clinton

One female friend said: "Sarah Palin is to the movement for women's equality what Clarence Thomas is to civil rights. She's an extremist and an enemy to the cause that has been fought on her behalf.... Someone should stand up and say: 'I know Senator Clinton. Senator Clinton is a friend of mine. And Sarah Palin is no Hillary Rodham Clinton.'"

So, yeah, I think she's in danger of being replaced...
