yea more neuro electric activity because of what the mother must be thinking, too many people on this planet anyway people should be limited to a certain number of children and you should have to qualify to be able to have kids.

Huh people are hardly touching this thread.

I'll touch it, Alot of Americans rather Rag Palin a woman who raised a family with a daughter who will keep a child rather than abort it, then face the reality that abortion and that self indulgence is rampant under the words "personal freedom"

Sex is something we have become addicted to and it is a pointless way of life to make it so important above so many other things and that even though a variety of contraceptive measures are available and we enjoy more personal freedom than any other civilization sexually in history we are so overstimulated and our expectations so high that people avoid birth control because the use of it leaves them lacking enough stimulation to "get off"

Bombarded by sexual images from an early age on, where once the gift of your partners body was enough to cause extreme arousal we now all suffer from diolization of perfect bodies, over use of porn and so many partners that we can not achive satisfaction even if something as a basic birthcontrol is used

I don't say these things because I am some religous zealot or because I was or am a conservative or follow a belief system

I say them because science has shown me many times over a fetus is alive and because abortion is a terrible way of doing things unless absolutely neccessary, because I was a horribly oversexed person at one point and when I had to make the decision myself I couldn't tell the woman to have an abortion

and It is the only single thing in my life, that life worth squat.

Birth control is enough, we are oversexed, it's not just about the life either, the entire oversexed way of life is leading to a lower level of satisfaction and I personallly have experienced this.

Yah right, why don't we limit kids some more, they wont grow up to be the solution to our problems the kids are the burden

Lets try to live forever, refuse to let the elderly die when they want to and live as if we can achieve immortality at the expense of a growing world of the young.

Because our selfishness is warrented...

Can no one but me see how people are so afraid of death themselves and so selfish they gladly rationalize a Holocost so they can eat like pigs, live lives of excess and attempt to "take it with them" so to speak

Interesting, there isnt really any reason to believe that the foetus isnt alive-it is in all respects an organism. I personally do believe in abortion in the event that it is the lesser of two evils-but yes, not just a way of retroactive birth control-a decision to be taken lightly-definately no.

you pretty much said how i felt!

in the end it should be up to whoever is pregnent, not governments and activists telling people what to do. it may seem wrong, and it is a potential life, but like was said before, alot of the times its the lesser of two evils.

Yeah i'm a big fan of Palin (and obviously abortion will be an issue now yet again)

But he not even for rape scenario is ridiculous and unfair (but that would never pass as that is the case)

I do think that a shift away from abortion as birth control and sex being taken both more seriously and some, any sort of spiritual return where respect for life is valued is a good thing though

We are way past, a plce where a syringe up into the body 60 days after conception should be used...

If abortion were to be used, at least first week via pill and even that I am sure is an unhealthy prcatice.

i asked my hubby (who is a fundie christian, btw) what he thought about the abortion issue. he said he believed that in the case of rape, if the baby is aborted, the blood is on the hands of the rapist. i think that's a very astute and sensible answer but there's no way to legislate it, since the courts would be full of rape victims who would have to then prove they were raped. the baby would be born before the case could be resolved. this, i believe, is one of the most difficult issues, ever. i don't envy anyone who has to deal with this topic.

Umm, no the kids aren't the problem. The amount of them is the problem. We cannot continue to reproduce at the current rate. The exponential growth of our population is directly correlated to many of the problems we face today - such as scarcity and pollution.

Again, I know the Bible says to procreate, but sometimes we need to make real decisions based off of ethics and rationality.

As for abortion, we can argue that topic all day and everyone knows where it leads.

Abortion is not the solution to an ever growing (and actually steadying rate in industrialized nations) world population. If we aim to slow population, we need to teach about the woes of early pregnancy, teach kids about sex, and make sure they know how hard the repercussions of having unsafe sex are. Abortion is like killing a lizard by pulling out it's tail, not chopping off the head. I agree that religion and ignorance should not lead one to thinking it's okay to procreate without looking at the problem they may be contributing to.

I never said abortion should be used for that. Someone mentioned regulating births and he was told "babies aren't the problem".

You saw my stance on birth control: I don't argue it with people. It's stupid and it doesn't lead anywhere. You end up with someone quoting scripture and someone quoting the constitution.

That or someone pulls out a picture of a dead fetus for shock value. You see, everyone loses.
