The 666 in Revelation is an illusion to this story...
...where a despot demands worship on penalty of death...
...who commands worship in defiance of a predicted succession...
...the image is 6 x 60 and everyone is commanded to bow down when 6 instruments are played.

Some believe such a tyrant will rise again and demand worship on penalty of death.

It's a scary theory because what does that mean all the people in the West have the Mark of the Beast? Why did the Taliban get away from it if they never trade, why are the Christians, why don't tribes who live in forests and jungles get an easy ride while Christians who are more wealthy trading with this barcode in their everyday shopping be decieved?
It does not seem right or fair.

The Beast it not here yet, it has not yet been revealed and the nations have not been set up that way yet, then again it could all change in a space of a few months.

So are people who use these barcodes already condemmed, then again the number is something do do with agreeing to it and forcing it upon you and yet no one has done that yet.

I should have been more clear in my post. Essentially the barcoding system has the potential for becoming the "mark of the beast". I believe this for multiple reasons however it is a mark that can be puton the skin/paper etc and be read with a scanner. When the governments of the world decide to process humans as commodities and your barcode on your hand or forehead is linked to a record which contains everything about you then you my friend have been marked by the beast.

The beast is the system. the single entity that is government. They impose civilization on us by creating "order" and control. the problem is that it is the most perverse system, people die, and are irreparably injured as a result of the system....

If the beast is Rome (which it was), then the mark related to buying and selling. You are correct. What do people use to buy and sell? That's right, coinage. And what mark is on coinage? The image of the emperor.

When you say six hundred and sixty six you type it as 666 not 60066 so six hundred (600) and threescore (60) six (6) is the same as saying 666 or six hundred and sixty six.

Symbolically, having the mark on the hand or the forehead (in the hand or on ones mind) represents the desire for commerce above the reverence of God.

The text isn't meant to be taken piecemeal, but as a whole.

It seems Rome and Italy right now are not the richest of nations and cities today, even London has more appeal in that aspect and is more central to finance than Rome. But things change and history is not yet done with man yet.

Having trouble understanding why people put so much stock in this crap. Revalation was an account of a man's "vision" while he was in exile....the modern equivalent of an expatriot's dream-diary. Also read: inherantly useless to the lives of modern man.
