While much of the world waited Friday to hear Sen. Barack Obama's selection as his Democratic running mate, Sen. Hillary Clinton, once thought to be a top pick for the position, toured the state fairgrounds in Geddes.
As news outlets cranked out guesses and political pundits speculated, Clinton shook hands with constituents, smiled for pictures and munched on fries.
"This is a great, great fair," Clinton beamed. "I look forward to this day every year, and I go on a diet for three days beforehand."
"This is his decision, and I respect him to make it however he believes is best for him, for our party and for the country," she said.
