High School teacher busted in online sex sting

The state attorney general announced today that a Mt. Lebanon High School chemistry teacher has been caught in a child predator sting.

Nicholas Salvo, 34, of Mt. Lebanon, is accused of using the Internet to send sexually explicit photos to someone he believed was a 14-year-old girl.

Authorities said Mr. Salvo accessed a teen chat room from his home computer on July 3 and contacted an undercover agent posing as a teen. He allegedly sent her a private message asking what her measurements were and telling, "I like younger girls."

This town is only 5 minutes from where I now reside here in Pittsburgh. It's a quiet little town. Kids ride their bikes as mothers jog trying to impress themselves when observing their beat bodies in the mirror.

The reality however, it plagues with heroin addicts and apparently child molesters. Don't you love small town imperfections ?

I didn't hear about this one but I did hear about the California High School principle caught running two brothels.

What has happened to our education system?

It doesn't surprise me. My 8th Grade Math teacher was actually caught using School computers on school time to look up Child Porn (This was back just before it was illegal and just frowned upon) not once, but twice. I hear he is still there, and "accidently" knocks things off his desk now and then when the girls come up to him.:shk:

Edit Added: I remember as a child in the early seventies hearing about a CP bust. That was my first hearing of Porn so I remember.

I'm not that old, but remember that when the internet started bursting out how all the laws were skirted around by lawyers? It was those technicalities that kept that teacher in my MS at his desk.

Whenever there is are major changess in tech and/or society, the law is left full of loopholes until they are closed up by lawmakers.

And even if someone had been arrested for having CP in pring, in some states it may not have been illegal until well after the 70's. I remember my professor this summer saying that Michale Moore had (before being...more sensational) gone down to Mississippi before 1996 and had bought a few white men and paraded them around as slaves. Thing was that he was legally able to do so because all of the laws had been focused on the freed African-American slaves and their offspring.

Other states don't take actions on issues, and just leave it to the Federal government to do so. For example, Kansas' minimum wage has been left at $2.30-something and if it weren't for the Federal laws that would be the wage you'd earn flipping burgers there. Imagine having to put in an 8 hour day just to put a couple gallons of gas in your tank. (Kansas is the state I am from and they may just be a bunch of jokers and not on task
