At approx 9:45pm on Saturday a huge fireball meteor (I am assuming) was seen moving slowly across the Gulf of Thailand in a north easterly direction,
and appeared to crash into the sea with a large white flash. This event was witnessed by thousands of people in the gulf. Although the description
does fit that of a fireball meteor, many witnesses swear the object appeared to slow down and change trajectory before it impacted. I would assume
this was an optical illusion. The interesting part of this story is however that the thai NAVY seems to be investigating the area with some pretty
high tech recovery ships. We are located on an island near to the incident and have watched the ships since.
What I would like to know is would the military have much interest in a regular meteor, considering the chances of finding it are like a needle in a
haystack? Or could something more sinister be going on? We are very isolated out here and all sorts of unusual military activity does occur here.
Anyone got any ideas?
here's fireball video in thailand.
but it was a year ago.
maybe they have huge fireball video monopoly.
what do they put on their ice tea anyways?
is it true it's just tea and half and half?
The most notable ship is a research vessel with a submarine on board. I do have friends here that know of the locations of all the known wrecks and
were the navy trains, although the area they seem to be focusing on dies not have anything we know about. The gulf is relatively shallow and apart
from a few famous pinnacles I believe it is mostly sandy bottom. There have been some high performance patrol vessels and a regular barge with cover.
The reason we noticed is they seem to be the cutting edge navy, and not the regular outdated boats that patrol the gulf. We may head out there
tomorrow although if they are still there I doubt we will be able to get very near. I will try to get some photos.
That was an incident a month or two back. The debris landed on Pho Quoc, a vietnamese island in the gulf of Thaildand. It was a mystery although did
look very much like wreckage from an old aircraft. No one did explain responsibility. The vietnamese airforce pleaded ignorance.
What details do you have for that video link? Interesting. We are about 500km from where the vietnamese incident took place.. It appeared that the
object landed in the sea in thai waters.
The vietnamese "ufo" exploded above the island showering debris across a wide area, debris that looks very much like antiquidated machinery from
the war.
What was witnessed last Sat night in Thailand appeared to crash into the sea. The important points in the witness accounts are the bright white flash
before impact and the fact that the object slowed down from its original trajectory, possibly even changing angle. It flew across the whole sky so it
was seen for a decent time. My big question is if it was a regular meteorite would the military have much interest in obtaining it? I am not sure if I
should have posted under ufos. Although it seemed to have similarities to the recent Calafornia crash and retrival incident in Needles.
Do we have a meteorite expert on ATS?
