Oh, that's so exciting...! We have wood pigeon nests here, and love watching their huge fluffy babies fledge in the summer. And we've had rows of baby starlings on the windowsills at work in the last week, all lining up to take their first long distance flights...absolutely magical. Please keep us posted...

I found a nest while picking apples the other day too! I love this side of nature when birds have such trust in their enviroment that they lay their nests close enough for the humans to see the process. I do believe that they have to trust the surroundings before they make a nest so close.
To me this tells me you have good mojo, good energy surrounding your home. Please get some pictures for us!

(The nest I found is several miles from my home at a friends orchard in his private back yard.)

I have a pigeons nest on my balcony, and they won't stop making more eggs!

I always try to wait until they go, and just at the moment I think they have finished, finished learning how to fly and leave, two NEW eggs are there haha. I don't know whether they are from the same couple or a different couple.

This must be like the 5th time in a row now, no kidding, they must trust me or something.

I got a lot of bird crap on my balcony now lol.

One thing I admire about pigeons is the way they help each other, both the father and the mother take turns to lay on the egg, and I think the stay together for life, ah true love lol.

I'll be checking back for pics.

A few years ago at the house I used to live, back in a top part of the outside deck there was a small nest of morning doves and the mother dove would sit there in the nest and could care less if you were to go up and take a bunch of pictures. I wish I still had some of the ones I took, but alas, crappy old-as-dirt digital camera...

I'm not much of a bird watcher.

I like watching kamikaze squirrels. They are such stunt masters jumping tree to tree. As long as they can touch a branch they are good to go and swing right up to recover from falling.
