I believe what we are looking at is a version of the Russian Strela-1 mobile SAM system, also known as the SA-9 "Gaskin".

The transporter might be a modified BMP APC, IMHO.

SA-13 Gopher to be exact




I dont think Ive ever seen a BMP-1 with a SAM platform. Not even the MK2 MK3

You still haven't! The picture Emile posted was the SA-13 GOPHER (ZREK-BD Strela 10 / 10M3-9M333) fitted to an MT-LB chassis.

The MT-LB was the Russian standard infantry carrier before the BMP and BTR series of vehicles came along. These days, it is used as a prime mover for ammunition and for towing wheeled field guns & howitzers.

As a SAM platform it is ideal as the basic loading is a minimum of 3,000 Kgs or 3 tonnes and [it] can readily support heavier SAM systems.
