I would think that the consequences for breaking into the Skull and Bones would be to be drafted to go to Iraq...

Why, does everyone want to break in there and hurts those guys. I'm sure there okay dudes. It would be very interesting to look inside. I hear they have tons of cool stuff. Fraternity houses mostly do (if they are any good).

Do you know much about the Skull & Bones?

Yes, I know some and have read some books on it, and talked to people that go to Yale.

Book Excerpt: The Legend of Skull and Bones

Sometime in the early 1830s, a Yale student named William H. Russell - the future valedictorian of the class of 1833 - traveled to Germany to study for a year. Russell came from an inordinately wealthy family that ran one of the United States' most despicable business organizations of the nineteenth century: Russell and Company, an opium empire. Russell would later become a member of the Connecticut State Legislature, agGeneral in the Connecticut National Guard, and the founder of the Collegiate and Commercial Institute in New Haven. While in Germany, Russell befriended the leader of an insidious German secret society that hailed the death.s head as its logo. Russell soon became caught up in this group, itself a sinister outgrowth of the notorious eighteenth century society of the Illuminati. When Russell returned to the U.S., he found an atmosphere so anti-Masonic that even his beloved Phi Beta Kappa, the honor society, had been unceremoniously stripped of its secrecy. Incensed, Russell rounded up a group of the most promising students in his class - including Alphonso Taft, the future Secretary of War, Attorney General, Minister to Austria, Ambassador to Russia, and father of future President William Howard Taft - and out of vengeance constructed the most powerful secret society the United States has ever known.

The men called their organization the "Brotherhood of Death," or, more informally, "The Order of Skull and Bones." They adopted the numerological symbol 322 because their group was the second chapter of the German organization, founded in 1832. They worshipped the goddess Eulogia, celebrated pirates, and covertly plotted an underground conspiracy to dominate the world.

There is no 'Skull and Bones' "HQ"....and the place or destination that you refer to is symbolic but not what your looking for...

So clever, trying to define WEIRD. Well, I used the word weird because you apparently love to live in this fantasy mind set that is switched to UTOPIA MODE. So I was being sarcastic, hoping you'd figure out that is much more than WEIRD, it is, quite frankly, disgusting and despicable. It may have been a "Debate Society" back when it started, but it is OBVIOUS that the movement within Skull and Bones NOW has turned to a more sinister side. From the S&B video, if you've never had the chance of seeing the initiation, they are obsessed with death and perversions. You speak seb as if you KNOW what is GOING ON, but you have no idea and you clearly have a mind that is, in my view, brainwashed. Or at least programmed to think in one way and one way only.

You're right, I am programmed to think in a way as to not make blind ASSUMPTIONS based on absolutely no evidence or facts. I am programmed to think LOGICALLY and SYSTEMATICALLY. I am NOT taught to jump to conclusions and make blind assumptions. If there's something wrong with that, then I don't want to be right.

sebatwerk,
here's a few more nuggets on the harmless frat.....

As soon as initiates are allowed into the "tomb," a dark, windowless crypt in New Haven with a roof that serves as a landing pad for the society's private helicopter, they are sworn to silence and told they must forever deny that they are members of this organization. During initiation, which involves ritualistic psychological conditioning, the juniors wrestle in mud and are physically beaten - this stage of the ceremony represents their "death" to the world as they have known it. They then lie naked in coffins, mast......., and reveal to the society their innermost sexual secrets. After this cleansing, the Bonesmen give the initiates robes to represent their new identities as individuals with a higher purpose. The society anoints the initiate with a new name, symbolizing his rebirth and re-christening as Knight X, a member of The Order. It is during this initiation that the new members are introduced to the artifacts in the tomb, among them Nazi memorabilia - including a set of Hitler's silverware - dozens of skulls, and an assortment of decorative tchochkes: coffins, skeletons, and innards. They are also introduced to "the Bones whore," the tomb's only full-time resident, who helps to ensure that the Bonesmen leave the tomb more mature than when they entered.

Under the society's direction, Bonesmen developed and dropped the nuclear bomb and navigated the Bay of Pigs invasion. Skull and Bones members had ties to Watergate and the Kennedy assassination. They control the Council of Foreign Relations and the Trilateral Commission so that they can push their own political agenda. Skull and Bones government officials have used the number 322 as codes for highly classified diplomatic assignments. The society discriminates against minorities and fought for slavery; indeed, as evidence eight out of twelve of Yale.s residential colleges are named for slave owners while none are named for abolitionists. The society encourages misogyny: it did not admit women until the 1990s because members did not believe women were capable of handling the Skull and Bones experience and because they said they feared incidents of date rape. This society also encourages grave robbing: deep within the bowels of the tomb are the stolen skulls of the Apache Chief Geronimo, Pancho Villa, and former President Martin van Buren.

Syrinx,

For a debunker of nonsense you sure are giving out a ton of it. That is an example of the MYTH of Skull & Bones from the "Secrets of the Tomb" book.

The only truth in that is the fact that they have many skulls and other creepy stuff. But so do most Fraternitys! Nothing more than a social club and a pretty cool one at that!

for what its worth, nonsense is in the eye of the beholder, and to me nonsense is the british royal family are really lizards from the 4th dimension, the moon landing was fake, we really have a stargate....topics that beling under the heading..."wouldn't it be cool if.....pass the bong"

the thing is, the tomb is real, the alumni are real, their positions are real, these are all public facts. S&B reports thier membership to the yale admin every year. its all based in fact.

the speculation is did they get to their positions by being smart yale grads, or by an invisible hand, and to what end. I don't think its a coincidence that S&B members have has such infuential positions in such a broad spectrum of indistries.

BTW, i am a frat alumni, we didn't rob graves, masturbate in coffins, and I have never gotten ahead in business because of the affiliation.

(coincidentally, one of my bros' is a direct decendent of henry luce....hmmm....)

out initiation is a secret, but thats just good old fashioned male bonding. if I told you, you'd be dissappointed. no skulls, hazing, nothing like that. the point is the secret, not what happens

Thats all very well and good. But my point is that members of skull & bones get high positions because they fellow brothers hook them up with sweet jobs. Or, becuase they are sick hard working Yale grads. No invisable hand, it makes perfect sense. Also, many Fraternitys do have skulls and other creepy stuff. This is a fact. Also, I will again say that the passage you quoted is from the MYTH of the Skull & Bones, (the masterbating in coffins).

Also, we all know that the Tomb and Skull & Bones is real no one is saying any different!!

When you consider that MOST skull and bones members that are picked to join the frat are some of the best students in the university, it is not much of a surprise that they go on to get great jobs. I'm sure being a bonesman doesn't hurt, but i highly doubt that it simply catapults people into these positions of power.

Did I claim to be an authority on the subject?!? Or did I simply try to give you a logical point of view?

I'd be guessing that you have to be fairly connected to get into Yale in the first place, unless you happen to be brilliant.

It is not a myth that most Fraternities have skulls and stuff I am a member of one and this is the case. I know many people in such groups and this is the case!

Okay, I own and have read "Secrets of the Tomb" by Alex Robins, her point of view is that it is just a college Fraternity!! If read her book you would agree with me or did you just read THE FIRST CHAPTER ALL ABOUT MYTHS THAT SHE DEBUNKED!!!!!

you can get to yale a number of different ways, but lets be honest, the 15 jumiors who are tapped are taped so they can fulfill the bones ideals of looking out for each other, advancing the cause, and keeping secrets. yes, yale tends to have new england bred wealthy genius kids, but the math is staggering. there are 800 bonesman alive at any given time, and both presidential candidates were bonesman in '04......I don't care how smart you are, thats no coincidence....and W gets a break on 2000 with florida, and 2004 with ohio....

sabetwerk, don't be so sensitive, I just pointed out someone who has done 100 interviews and been in the tomb has an opinion of greater weight than you....thats all..

Oh, c'mon. There have to be at least 800 colleges in the States, let alone living graduates. Hardly something to gauge against.

BTW, gotta give you the one on the elections. Set-up.

You don't know this. It is yet another blind assumption...

George W. Bush was originally well-connected because he is from a politically powerful family. Again I highly doubt getting these breaks has anything to do with being a bonesman. Otherwise, why didn't Kerry catch a break?

What I said doesn't contradict Alex Robins' research one bit, so I don't get why you are trying to say that her opinion is more valuable than mine. She did an investigation, and I simply gave you my point of view. It's like comparing apples to oranges. And besides, the little I HAVE read regarding her investigation shows me that skull and bones is little more than a debate society for Yale's elite.
