I've always thought that there was a hidden message in this classic book by H.G. Wells. This author, as many would know, was not only a Science Fiction writer par excellence, but was also a prophet of sorts. I read and reread this book many times, but it would not give up its secret. Then I borrowed the 1967 audio adaptation of this book by the BBC from a local library and listened to it. The book became alive now, and I think I picked up the message. Call me crazy if you will, but H.G. Wells was warning us of an alien attack that would occur soon. The sudden darkening of the sky seen in the U.K. a few days ago is probably a rare natural phenomenon that opens up portals long enough for hostile aliens to land on earth. I believe that the invasion is about to begin. What the preacher said in the novel is correct. The rider on the pale horse is about to attack. And as in the novel, the invaders will be eventually be overwhelmed by earthly virus, but not before a sizable part of the earth's population is annihilated. This is the vision I have received.

Quite a claim. But if Wells was a prophet; what did he predict and did it turn out to be true? And if he did was the prediction then also hidden?

I loved this story, I listened to the Jeff Wayne's version a lot of times. I also saw the picture with Tom Cruise (there's a prophet for you!). I don't think it is impossible, but I doubt whether it is predictable.

And if the Aliens (Martian or other) have seen the movie, read the book or listened to the radio version, they sure had the time to arm them selves
against any virus or bacteria.

Any way; what is here to gain for aliens and why wouldn't they have gotten it from us a long time ago already? An other thing is "they" would not need such primitive means to conquer the globe...

But who knows for sure????

Ok i call you crazy..so basically you say you have received a vision that earth will be invaded, the invaders defeated by an earthly virus but not before a lot of people die.Its not much of a vision if you are copying the exact format of the War of the Worlds book is it ?
Care to fill us in about this rare natural phenomenon that opens portals ?
Please provide the evidence to confirm your conclusion please...

I LOVE this story and have done since i was a kid, read the book countless times and listened to my mums record all the time. the artwork in the sleeve used to tranfix me
It is the alien story of them all!! and even better, written at a time when it was a totally original concept!
BUT i doubt its a prophecy. you could just as easily say Harry potter is a prophecy. its just a story!
but you cant ever rule out something like that happening can you? I hope it doesnt but there may be hostile aliens out there. I'd like to think that the ones who already visit here are looking out for us and helping us in some strange way, if they were going to attack they would have done it by now. but that doesnt mean all races from all over the universe are the same.

on the subject of war of the worlds, isnt it strange how Tom cruise played the lead in the remake? wouldnt this conflict with his scientology beliefs? or do you think this is why he did the film?

It is like this. The bad karma that earth generates ( through the extreme greed and selfishness of its people ), allows for things like these to happen to help them wake up and shake their heads in disbelief that they could ever behave in this way with one another. This is commonly seen in the karma of nations. Take India for example. The oppression of the lower casts by the higher casts for eons, opened the door for colonial occupation of that land. The colonist then robbed and plundered India blind; until it realized how precious all its people were. If we cannot learn a truth the easy way, nature has a way to teach us this lesson in a much more difficult way. And so it is with earth. It seems likely now, that only an alien invasion can help us see that we are all brothers and sisters here on planet earth, and that the differences we have don't count.
The vision I got was, what the preacher said ( about the rider on the pale horse ), is happening right now. I put two and two together and concluded that the black skies are the portals through which the riders on pale horses will arrive to teach earthlings a much needed lesson.
Those who are familiar with the works of Lobsang Rampa will recall that he said that the brotherhood of man on earth will be established only after a devastating attack from aliens.

Not saying portals do exist, but if they did and aliens came through to take over the world, wouldnt they just go back in time and enslave us when we was less advanced?
I dont see any evidence just a fantasy.

Please post these kind of theories in Skunk Works. Please.

Your prediction is substantiated by some dark clouds and a sci-fi novel. Skunk Works.

Hi carlosox,

Sometimes, a story is just a story! You mention that you read the book over and over looking for a message... As they say, "Seek & You Shall Find". I don't remember the sky turning black in England or the year 2008 being earmarked in the original story - so how do you equate these inconsistencies?

Let me know when the red weeds start taking over. If it doesn't happen in a day or so, then the prediction, (as you see it) is just wild imaginings and perhaps you should admit as much in this thread. It might be a great way to 'save face'!

O.K. guys, might just be my wild imaginings. Thanks for putting me on the right track. But the Rider on the pale horse mentioned in Revelations marks striking resemblance to Kalki in the Hindu scriptures in that they will destroy the old to make way for the new. Most members at ATS more or less accept that there will be a new beginning in 2012 - so should not the destruction start around now ? Aliens and their crafts can be quite accurately described as ' pale '. I believe the last horseman of Revelations and Kalki the last avatar both refer to aliens. The U.S. govt. must have got wind of this, or why would President mention about an alien attack while he was in office ? I might still have a point after all.

You got the wrong message. H.G's message was simple. "STAY ON EARTH"

He warns us about going to other planets as he knew viruses would be our killers. We are protected from alien viruses and our own microbes here and earth so it's best to stay here and stop looking to go elsewhere. Home is where your heart should be.

If an aggressive "alien" force had the technology to perform what they performed in his book, then they'd have the technology to protect themselves from any "virus".

If they had the technology to protect themselves from any "virus".. then they'd surely have the technology to USE "viruses".. against the population.. wiping us out before they even showed themselves.
This would be the most efficient form of invasion.

Now...
If a separate group of humans.. wanted to eliminate vast majorities of the human population..
Then one would conclude that if we can think of the most efficient method that aliens would take us down with, then why not pretend to be said aliens, and invent a disease..

OR

Pretend that the symptoms of an already positively acting virus (viruses can augment life to whatever intent) is "the alien virus".. stir up fear and quel the positively evolving (augmenting) humans, under cover of a "mass disease"...

either way.. you'll be led by your masters who say "what is" and "what isn't"..

whether you can understand it or not.

fact is..
I don't think malevolent advanced races overtly attack.
I think they manipulate from within. That's most efficient.

If they were going to cull the population, they'd have done it ages ago.
If a culling occurs, it's via manipulated human hands.
Under the guise of pretending to prevent you from the staged alien virus.

which may really be a virus for the positive.. non lethal.. evolving trigger.
which powers that be.. would not want to interfere with their plans.

just a thought.
wheels within wheels... in a spiral array.

Hang on... first you say "Fact Is", then you say "I Think". Entirely two different things! Which is it - and if it is a fact, can you back this up in any tangible way, other than speculation on yours or someone else's behalf?

I think the "Fact" part was a bit of a fictional stretch mate!

Other than it being a great story, I've always wondered if his radio broadcast was sanctioned by the U.S. government at the time to see how people would react to hearing about aliens. Kind of a disclosure test.

Grammar Troll? Ohh - such devastating repartee!

Yep, I am a stickler for grammar & spelling etc (guilty as charged)... But I'm certainly no Troll!

Perhaps put more thought into the structure of your headings & paragraphs first. Read it back - see how it reads, or if it could be misconstrued. I don't know... here's a radical idea but maybe you should be angry at your own hastiness in hitting the "Post Reply" button instead of me!

Perhaps I can call you a childish name in return? After all, it's only fair... yeah?

Nah... I won't stoop!

This gets me... So what do we really know about 2012? Nothing
End of the Mayan Calendar, not the world. If there is evidence to the contrary, please let me know. I do know this... there are ppl out there creating movies, writing books, and selling tickets to seminars. (scammers) I would not base my faith on doomsday as some do. I know this isnt the gist of the post, but
do most at ATS think like this????

I liked the book and the movies ,both of them.Anything is possible.Funny thing though, the game Tabula Rasa has a trailer at the beginning that shows a massive surprise attack on Earth, and i quote

"We never saw it coming. We were too busy watching our big screen TVs reading trash tabloids and swallowing perscription anti-depressants.We never stood a chance. For all i know its gone forever.(Earth)
We never saw it coming but our leaders did. They couldnt save all of us so they handpicked the ones who could fight. They created wormhole portals with alien technologies hidden on our planet centuries ago.Portals to the frontlines of a war that had been raging for eons on worlds we never knew existed.
Today we fight. It seemed hopeless. But we have a secret. An ancient legacy we dont fully understand.A alien power has awakened in some of us.Over time its changing us ,evolving us.But change is what we need.A fresh start.A clean slate."

To this day the trailer still gives me chills up and down my spine.

What is "IRM" l33t speak for?

But ... I have to agree with a prior poster.

I have always heard and agreed with his original broadcast being a test for disclosure. How else would the government actually know how civilization would handle disclosure?

If I remember correctly, in some government documents that I've seen, it has always seemed as thought the government had tested disclosure and knew how society would react. I could have misunderstood the information, but that is just what I always interpreted it as.

I do think the possibility of an invasion is real. If you want ultimate proof go to youtube and watch all of the "Reagan Alien" speeches. There are at least 5 separate times when he gives the same speech. Here is one in front of the whole United Nations.

I have heard people say that this is just a "theory", and Reagan was proposing a "what if" scenario ..... but I completely disagree. If this was a hypothetical, I don't think he would have repeated it four times!
After all, we are talking about Ronald Reagan here. Not only was he one of the best speakers our country has ever had, but he was President during one of our nation's toughest times (Cold War). I think he had better things to talk about than pure "What If" scenarios. Just my opinion of course.
