I do not know what will happen, but I do know that within a decade from now we will have a much powerful United Nations, a United Europe - which will include parts of Russia and Siberia will be apart of China (see my thread in RATS about illegal Chinese immigration into Siberia.)

from the Detroit link:

"We want to thank them for the great support they've given the coalition and we wish them well,"

In other words US Army is extending their thanks to the Georgians for killing Iraqis and they hope they just get to kill more Russians now instead.

How on earth this idiotic response from the United States of America that will only add fuel to a fire, is supposed to be a measure of achieving a ceasefire and bring peace to the general area of the Caucasus?

Something tells me the "hotheads" in the US Army wished they had the balls to land on Caucasus and start shooting Russians themselves. Instead they aid the Georgians to the same means of fighting.

It is now pretty clear to me why this whole "crisis" emerged. From the unbelivable suicide tendencies of the Georgian Army and their President to the low profile United States of America help they were getting all this time.

Thank you for bringing this revealing piece of news to view.
Star and flag.

Aren't things getting hotter?
We have troops shooting Iraqis and now are aided to turn their gun barrel against Russian tactical troops.

Way to go America!
US of A next move in another international crisis will be what?
Bring us World Wide War III?

Why is it idiotic to wish a fellow soilder who served side by side well? God forbid Putin gets his panties in a bigger wad eh?

Only an idiot would allow that statement / sentiment to effect them :shk:

So now we take those Georgians who helped us and died on our battlefield back home... so they can fight for their country against the Russian

They then turn around and say Ok we helped you big time, now we ask for your help...

And we say what? "Thanks for the help, but sorry we can't get involved?"

THAT is going to be sticky

I understand that some of us posting here might have some people in the armed forces.
I can respect that since they get a nice paycheck and help their families and all that.

Who is going to give respect to the fact that on this planet there are 6 billion and a half souls waking up every day and wish they have a future and not find themselves in the middle of a global war.

The U.S. just crossed a line. It has provided transport for troops into a battlefield in a nation that Russia is at war with.

Technically, Russia could delcare war on the U.S.

Great find Zorgon, wish we could see more of you on these fourms...

And thanks for linking to my thread...

At first, i wasn't buying that the US would have known about the Georgians intentions to drive into South Ossetia.

"He said measures were already in place to mitigate the impact on operations in Iraq of the sudden departure of the soldiers."

Now, there is NO WAY that he could have been talking about US-forces being withdrawn, that wouldn't be a defintion of 'Sudden'... So, is this Georgian Conflict where our US troops were going to go?

I say, not likely.

If the US had been aware of this, they would have taken some measures... Such as, sending a Carrier battlegroup to the Black Sea, or Transporting the 2000 Georgian Troops ahead of time. Or given Georgia a Few F-22's Painted in Georgian Colors(ala Clinton)...

I think the SHOCK of this situation confirms that this was something the US didn't plan... or plan well... IF the US had planned this, then the US-Media would have had their Barking orders from the Min this thing started...

Instead, the American Media HAD NOTHING on the story, nothing for WELL over a day, enough time for TOP US level people to gather and brainstorm on it...

Our Media does not think well on their feet, and looking at the LACK of coverage this story was getting in the US from the get-go, is an indication that this was a True suprise... After the First 36 hours, the US-media went into FULL SPIN mode.

When this started, the American media was covering ONE story, and ONE story alone, The Shmucky Lier's Bastard Child... AND THATS it...

The olympic cerimonies said something for about one second, not long enough for anyone who didn't know what was going on to notice... Along the lines of "A small miliatary skirmish in Georgia" and later "A Rather LARGE military Skrimish bettwen Georgia and Russia"... and that was it...

Now, on the Issue of the US getting involed... I know you have read my thread, but ill reinterate it here...

Georgia is a STRONG US ally, and by virtue of that, they should be treated with respect.

Georgian military was the 3rd largetst force in Iraq, behind the US and the UK, more then Australia, Cannada, France, Spain, Germany, and ANYONE else...

Here is a Nation, that is doing everything it can to be accepted into the Western world. They have a President that is harvard educated, trying to join NATO.

Georgia is a US ally, and it makes me feel ASHAMED to know that we, the US, are leaveing our Ally out to die...

Thats not how America should act... No country should act that way, ask a nation to volunter there troops to serve in a Far-off war, and then abandon them when thier Home-Land is attacked... Its horrible...

I don't want a WW, no sane man does...

But each passing hour, we stand and do nothing, our ally is in war, thier nation is at stake, they are being invaded by an army TENFOLD of what they are... And we are thier main-man, they have put Years of service into our WARS, WHY, so that one day, if they are in trouble, we will be there to help them.

Thats how an allience works...

No country is going to want to be friends with the US, not when they see the US turn and leave thier allies to Die...

Nobody wants WAR...

But you know what they Say...
"You can't Always get what you want"

Yeah no kidding!
I looked at my local newspaper today here in Fairbanks, Alaska and the front page was some idiot outrunning cops on a 4 wheeler. At the bottom left in a tiny box was the story on georgia. And the actual story wasn't even a major headline. It was on page B6 or something ridiculous. Why is the media downplaying this HUGE event? If WW3 gets kicked off here, I don't know about you guys but I'm certainly not privy to a nuclear holocaust. America has already taken a side in this battle. And what next???

Yet the story is on B6?? What is wrong with the world??
