Thought I would have a look at where the capital city Tskhinvali / South Ossetia
was surprised that you get no details of roads names etc. Also if you select Satellite with overlay ticked you get no details as well.

Any thoughts on this guys or gals....




Labels have been turned off....

Have they been taken off or did they never exist in the first place.

Azerbaijan and Armenia are adjacent and they have no mapping information either. So, *shrug*.

Nothing for Armenia or Azerbaijan either. And the autonomous region of Nakhichevanskaya isn't even labeled. Is Google in cohorts with Putin?

I know the map details etc were there a couple mths ago as i was doing some googling about Beslan. Being curious about how beslan is getting on etc

One would ahve to be allowed into a country to be able to establish accurate cartographic data about road names, etc. In case you're unclear on the concept, satellite photos do not come with automagical labeling.
