Will the change of leaders in Spain have an impact on the election for president here in the U.S.? Aznar was a pretty big supporter for the War in Iraq, now that he has been kicked out of office, will this have a big impact for Bush (bad)?

If the Socialist Party in Spain is declared the winner in the Spanish election, I think it is the clearest case of a conspiracy I have ever seen. Before the bombing Aznars' party was generally believed to have the election in hand but, it was close. The terrorists (I believe it was Al Queda and ETA together) planned a coup in Spain and they succeeded. It is the biggest coup of modern times, in my opinion. Think of the ramifications; since the terrorist succeeded in their goal, I think it is very logical to assume that they will try the tactic again and what upcoming political event could they sway next?

This is a clear victory for the terrorists and PAZ; do the terrorists believe that the United States public could be swayed in a similar fashion? Could a similar tragic event sway American voters to elect a left-wing anti-military Senator from MA? I don't think it would have the same effect in the states but, I do think that people who are angry are more inclined to get out and vote against someone, rather than the other way around. This is sad day for the world because it gives the believers in terror another notch in their belt. A clear victory they can point to and say "Our way works, we will win."

How anyone, even those against the war in Iraq, can look at what happened in Spain and see it as anything but a victory for UBL and ETA is beyond me. Did peace win? Was Law and Order punished? If through slaughter, political power can be gained in a modern first world country are we headed toward an ideological middle ground or are we headed towards the polar regions of the political spectrum? There is no middle ground with murder, just look at Israel. How do you make peace with those that would kill you simply for being who you are?

It already has. Keep watchin the news.

You can't. You have only two choices according to the "enemy". Submit or die. The only other possibility
requires Victory. Are we up to it? I doubt it. Look
how much of the world thinks the "enemy" is Bush.

Well I think the Spanich election will have some serious long term ramifications, including but not limited to attacks on Britain, Poland and other countries who supported the Iraq war along with severe consequences as election time nears in all of the stated countries, ESPECIALLY the US.
I presume we will have a major attack come November and every 4 (possibly 2) years aroiund election time to try and influence our government and our people. It seems that anyone who goes against Bush is the winner in Europe and this makes Tony Blair look extremly weak. I think people are making a huge mistake when they want to appease to terrorists, that only allows them reason to continue attacks.....These are people that cannot be reasoned with until democracy is destroyed and Islam is the worlds religion.

Im sorry to say this, but the way Spain appeased to the terrorists after the Madrid attacks is absolutely the most disgusting and possibly the biggest mistake since the war on terror has begun.....Look for attacks to increase. Its kind of sad because when something happens again in Europe and something WILL happen, they will come ask for our help and of course we will help......

I just cant get over how PISSED off I am that Spain has allowed itself to become part of the martyr of nations that will turn its back against all that is wrong in the world.

If it was a coup, it was a stupid coup, because the attack benefitted the hard-line antiterrorist PP.

So, Ra, you love the fact that the terrorists won? You love the fact that the terrorists accomplished exactly what they were trying to do?

If someone Nukes us this summer and because of that Bush isn't reelected, will you rejoice then?

Face it, the people of Spain surrendered. They have sent the message that their population can be held hostage. I wouldn't be surprised to see Spain become an Islamic state in the future. Does the Koran say anything about Bullfighting I wonder?

Seem another one overlooked what O said. The terrorist attack benefitted the party with a stronger anti-terrorist look, the PP. The PSOE winned against this fact. The terrorist losed.

Face it, you are talking non-sense, Spain will never be Islamic again, and if so, we'll reconquer it as last time, even if it takes us another thousand years. Even more, you are implying again Al Qaeda has something to do there, which they didn't. There are evils out there that escape Al Qaeda influence. Moroccan extremists, no more, no less.

You can still believe we are cowards. We know better. We suffered the humiliation of the very own CNN calling the ETA terrorists Basque Separatist Group. During years, numerous countries provided shelter for them. During years Spanish suffered this humiliation. But now we have captured most of the attackers and no war was required. We are still proud of being Spanish, and whatever you may think about it is irrelevant.
