we have an operational missile defense system that is in use and has been tested, missles really arent a threat anymore, one or two may get through but the place you call russia would get nailed with about 499 neutron bombs, these bombs kill people , and have no fallout, they leave structure standing, then georgia could walk in and take over
so no im not worried about a nuclear holocaust, only ones to watch for are the ones they handcarried in here, and we have em over there too,
you could probally kiss new york, washing dc, chicago goodbye, but that is if we havent already found these contingent bombs and got rid of them already
MOSCOW, Aug 14 (Reuters) - Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has urged France, which is mediating in its conflict with Georgia, to encourage Tbilisi to sign a binding agreement not to attack its separatist regions, the Kremlin said on Thursday.
Medvedev late on Wednesday spoke by telephone with French President Nicolas Sarkozy, who helped outline the basic principles of the ceasefire over Georgia's breakaway region of South Ossetia, the Kremlin said in a press-release.
"D.Medvedev noted that the most important thing now for ensuring a sustainable process of normalising situation in the region is the (non-attack) agreement ... rather than U.N resolutions or declarations," the press-release said.
GANMUKHURI, Georgia - A few dozen fighters from the separatist region of Abkhazia crossed a thin slice of land dotted with Georgian villages Wednesday and planted their red, white and green flag in Georgian territory in a brazen challenge to the country's sovereignty.

"This is Abkhazian land," one of the fighters proclaimed, planting the flag on the Georgian side of a bridge across the Inguri river. "The border has been along this river for 1,000 years," separatist official Ruslan Kishmaria said at the bridge on the outskirts of Ganmukhuri, a village previously held by Georgia.

Officials in the Georgian town of Zugdidi, near Abkhazia, alleged the separatists' move was a violation of the cease-fire. They said Abkhazian forces crossed the border and occupied villages on the Georgian side.
"They breached the agreement. They occupied territory that belongs to Zugdidi district," said Tengiz Shanava, aide to the district chief.

Poland's President Lech Kaczynski Wednesday criticized a plan by French President Nicolas Sarkozy to end Russia's conflict with Georgia, saying it failed to protect Georgia's territory.
"We've heard talk about the conditions for suspending operations, and there's not one word about Georgia's territorial integrity," Kaczynski told reporters in the Georgian capital.
