Im starting to think maybe US had this as there "false flag" if Georgia are moving toward the eastern borders of that country ( i forget the name sorry and my internets too slow to check google maps) maybe they are hoping Iran would become involved and then US could attack Iran as a "Save Georgia" kind of action, I dunno. Im just speculating because I dont have a clue whats going on right now.

Thank you; I appreciate the sources.

This is a tense and somewhat desperate situation. Please, everybody, be careful of what you say -- make sure it is supported by some credible source. I'm not trying to surpress anyone; I want to know what is going on and I appreciate the play-by-play. Just make sure to note where you heard the information from, particularly when quoting from TV news.

AND, for God's sake, and our own, please try not to salivate too much at the prospect of the US and/or UK getting involved and/or WWIII. This is not an entertaining situation. It won't be "thrilling" or "interesting". It is war, and there are rarely, if ever, any winners.

I highly doubt that. Iran has no dogs in that fight, and Russia does not need Iran's assistance in the matter. If anything, our government has already worked all this out with Russia beforehand. We'll continue to pretend to care and demand they cease military action, yada yada, just like they do when we unleash our military on some country that doesn't even know it's already been given away.

IMO, it works like this: we intentionally lead Georgia to believe we're on their side, with that false belief they get balls and decide to make their move, leaving Russia the ability to attack Georgia and maybe even forcefully bring them back under their rule. In return, Russia does the same in regards to Iran, makes them think they have their back so Iran ends up making the first aggressive move or continues to aggresively pursue nukes thinking Russia will be there for them. Ours and Russia's leaders are corrupt, dirty bastards. The big players most likely already have the world divided, and these events are probably pre-planned.

Oil war people, Oil war.

"

The latest eruption of violence could easily spur fresh attacks. The BTC pipeline, which is buried throughout most of its length to make sabotage more difficult, was a politically highly charged project. It was firmly opposed by Russia, which views the Caucasus as its own sphere of influence and wants central Asian oil to be exported via its own territory.

Russia also backs the South Ossetian and Abkhazian separatists in Georgia and relations between Moscow and Tbilisi have curdled into outright hostility in recent months.

The BTC pipeline, which cost $3 billion to build, is a key plank of US foreign policy because it reduces Western reliance on oil from both the Middle East and Russia.

It's Georgia, The EU and The US all fighting under the BP flag. British Petroleum pipeline is the asset.

The other side is the break away republics,OPEC Nations, Russia, and China.

Man I thought the folks here were a little quicker on the draw than that.

I have to kinda disagree with your summary. I believe the things that seem obvious to us peons are made to seem that way.

There was some Georgian guy (I assume their president?) speaking on that Russia Today stream.

IMO he sounded quite cheap as if he didn't even believe himself on the matter that they are the victims.

In any case it does me good to see Russia being seen as the "Good guys" in this battle rather than the demon offspawn waiting to devour us all.

p.s: I recognize a lot of the military equipment lol, so I guess I have another reason for watching that stream

EDIT: Recap finished, they say to have more info at the hour. (2:00 AM)

I thought I might put up a quote I've seen before, forget who said it but I think it is quite appropriate for this current situation.

The only person who thinks war is entertaining
Is someone who hasn't been in one.

According to Russia Today:

"Relatives of South Ossetian Victims report Ambulance Crews under fire."

"Georgians attacking ambulance crews to prevent injured from being helped."

"Reports of young Georgians being forced to join army against will."

"Abkhazia is continuing to move its forces towards Georgian border."

"UN security council fails again to decide on conflict in Georgia"
US accusing Russia of being the only member not calling a Cease-Fire.

Georgia's Ethnic Cleansing is being mentioned again and as I see Russia isn't planning on leaving anytime soon.

"Website hackers compare Georgian President with Adolf hitler".

Not to take this off topic but ,I feel this is kinda related. As I was reading this all I remembered something John Titor said:

The attack on Europe is in response to a unified European army that masses and moves East from Germany. Also, please be aware that from my viewpoint, Russia attacked my enemy who was in the U.S. cities. Yes, the U.S. did counter attack.

End Quote.

Now as I have read this thread, the West seems kinda divided about this but willing to take action if action is required by the member nations. If Russia goes in deep and repays Georgia as it has paid others... Then what we will have is a catalyst that would trigger the afore mentioned quote...And every other horrible Titor thing.

Someone already said they expect the Russians to come in tomorrow to wipe out the Georgians. They maybe right..

I think we can pretty much say, stuff is going down...
This region of South Ossetia, is a hundred + square miles... thats a nice little region...
Not quite as big as Kosovo...

From what i can see here, the Georgia region as "South Ossetia" wanted to break away from Georgia.

Russia supports the South Ossetia 'rebelion'

Georgia starts to attack rebelion area.

Russia moves troops, and armour in, under cover of air support/bombing

Now we wait for the next step tp drop...

Russia is sending in more forces... Georgia isn't going to be able to win this battle... not alone...

Heres what Georgis got:Link

Not the best equitment... Old soviot garbage... and some newer 80s stuff... Nothing that can realy compare with what the Soviots are rolling in with... This will get ugly...

Lets wait for the next step to fall now...
