According to a cnn crew, Georgian troops are pulling out from Gori.

Supposedly, Georgian troops have retreaded to the capital and are preparing to defend it.

www.cnn.com...

Georgians are long gone, last video update from CNN is reporting that Russian infantry is swarming all over Gori. Also Russian forces have entered the port town Poti.

Tomorrow will be a day to watch.

While it's certainly possible that Gori has been taken and that Poti has as well, I should again point out that all reports thus far concerning that, including the CNN video, cite Georgian officials as the source. CNN itself says that Georgia's command and communication have broken down to the point that they don't know what's happening inside the country in terms of where Russian forces are.

Furthermore, the president of Georgia already said that what were believed to have been Russian forces inside Gori weren't, and on the ground witnesses have said Gori is empty of military forces. All we have any confirmation of at all is that Russian forces were inside Senaki earlier. There are rumors and a report from Russia itself that they have withdrawn from Senaki. That too is unconfirmed, though.

We need to keep an open mind and not jump to conclusions. Just because the news says Georgian officials say Poti and Gori have fallen doesn't mean they have. Yesterday they said Russian forces had invaded and were advancing on Gori, then later said it was only being shelled and hit with air strikes.

I have no bias in Russia's favor, but I do have a bias in favor of objectivity and truth. We don't know what's happening and need to be patient in my opinion.

does anyone have a link to any pictures of the town that the georgians leveled, all i can find is pictures of a couple houses hit with small arms fire and broken windows. If it really happened wouldnt there be pictures of the devestation somewhere, I was watching russian tv and it showed very little damage but used a banner that said " devestation and genocide"

is there an actual body count of the dead there, is there anybody from the red cross backing this up.

I just want one link to something that shows this act of aggression actually happened, cause to me it doesnt' look like it did!!!

You know what? You're right! For that matter, we can't even say with 100% certainty that what Russia says happened in South Ossetia happened that way. We have too little information. Too much hyperbole and not enough facts from both sides. *sigh*

And the media eats it up and reports it.

Russia says it has withdrawn its forces from Senaki, near Abkhazi inside Georgia where they had previously secured a Georgian air base, after achieving its objectives there.

I have honestly looked for this for five straight hours, the only thing they have shown is on russia today tv and it was one house that windows that looked like rocks were thrown through them, and bullet holes in the walls,

that was all they showed

Attention All Contributing Members:

I have issued a request with Skyfloating, a forum MOD, to change the title of the topic to : GEORGIA/RUSSIA SITUATION - NEWS & UPDATES. As fellow members have stated "Georgia Downs Two Russian Planes" Doesn't even compare to the facts many people have stated in this thread.

Thank you to all that have added information to this thread.

I think for footage of Tskhinvaly you'll have to watch Russia Today.

Here's a link for it: www.livenewscameras.com... -> world tab -> Russia Today.
