THATS WHAT I HAVE BEEN SAYING ALL ALONG....THE CAMERA HAS BEEN PHYSICALLY TAKEN OFFLINE!

Right you don't think the Georgians wanted to give the Russians targeting data did you? Or let them know what is happening around the building.
They are digging in.
And securing the area.
No surprise.

Everything Maloy said would not happen has happened darn near exactly as he described it.... He postulated a bunch of hypotheticals but insisted Russia wasn't gonna do it.... WHAM! its done. Georgia is FUBAR.

You forgot one thing maloy is not the commander of the Russian Forces, so if you had taken his word for granted thats your fault

No I did not forget anything. I was just surprised to see the events unfold exactly the way he described they would not unfold. I mean I kinda figured that Russia wasn't gonna stop but DARN! reading that yahoo article was like I was re-reading his words..

This has been a great thread for updating and breaking news, but in the last hour or so,it seem people are going after everyone, lets keep it going like it was and not tear strips of people or it will start going down hill fast and we ll lose it.

No one is saying Russia is not in Georgia. In fact, quite the contrary, even Russia itself has confirmed that it has forces in Zugdidi and Senaki.

What I and others are saying is that Russia may not be in Gori. There are no confirmed reports that they are. All we have are statements from the Georgian interior ministry saying that Gori has been taken (on which the various articles floating around are based), and a confirmation that Georgia's command and communication structure may be so damaged that they don't know what's happening and what isn't. Eye witness accounts on the part of Reuters in Gori say that Russian forces are not there. Russia says they haven't taken Gori. Could Russia be lying? Sure. But then why have they admitted taking Senaki?

We need to stop thinking in absolutes and keep an open mind. Isn't that what ATS is all about? We all want the same thing: to know the facts on the ground. When it comes to Gori, we don't know that yet. It has nothing to with sympathy for Russia (at least on my part) and everything to do with wanting to remain objective.

Dude it is conformation and stopping a easy source of information.
If prepping for a battle why would you leave that camera on?
For all we know it was a software glitch. And the admin is most likely away from the keyboard ATM. Even chance that he is now carrying an AK or an M-16.
