Im watching BBC News and they keep showing Gori and there definetly IS armour in there and Aircraft flying over... some real low
Whose armor? Georgian armor, aircraft, and helicopters are exactly the same as Russian ones. Are you sure you aren't seeing a Georgian mass retreat?
Russian peacekeeping forces have taken control of Georgia’s largest airbase, about 40km from the border with Abkhazia. The Russian Defence Ministry said the troops were taking ‘preventative action’ at the base in the town of Senaki.

Nope, I don't think so. Put it this way, the gunships are flying in getting low then flying out, flying back in then flying out again.

That footage was quite extraordinary.
Sky just conducted a very interesting interview with an expert - they were discussing the implications of a U.S./Russia proxy war and the region, as well as the possible involvement of Wahhabist Chechen fighters.

Somehow I don't think flying in circles like that is normal operating procedure during a storming of the city.
This is seeming more and more like some Hollywood movie in Gori by the minute now. As if it is all a big play for the media. Very awkward to say the least.
But I could see Russian foces coming in an taking the city - seeing how they took Senaki. They could effectively cut the country in two - as the major East-West road runs through there. But now what? On to Tbilisi?
And why has the Russian military confirmed attack on Senaki, but not on Gori?

IMO, I think Russia will surround Tbilisi and force a surrender and expulsion of the president. and they will install ( by way of letting the opposition government take control ) their friendly government to in effect steal Georgia away from the west and USA more specifically.
Russia has always warned Georgia not to deal with NATO or USA. we are seeing that actions of those warnings.
my heart goes out to all the families involved.
