I was browsing through the Mars pics and found some strange symmetrical figure on one of those pics, as i'm no photoexpert i tought to share it with you guys.
Any thought?

The only thing that would produce that on earth is man or tidal water erosion....

Amazing find there.

That indeed does look like a small circular indent into the rock, that is unique from anythign else in the picture.


It could be a VERY small crater. Or like others said, a small tidail pool, that 'ate' away the rock... Or, conversly, it could just be a bit of water on the lens... now that they can use that excuse on mars now too...

Or something else..

Either way, i think it could be something...

Nice find!

Some people who are 'good' with computers, could take the image, and crop and post it...

And i know there is a TON of things they CAN do to it, see if they can realy define the edges of this artifact...

I think i might notifiy a specilist... there are MANY on here... and im sure someone would like to do this sort of thing...

I could be wrong but is it not an area where the rover tested the rock? I believe it grinds away stone in a circular pattern, I know i have seen other pics with the same pattern.

It's a drill hole left from the rover, just like this one.
