To an extent that is true, however the Viet Cong was also mostly destroyed as a fighting force in the 1968 Tet Offensive, when they suffered 75000 KIA.

What's funny in this thread is watching and listening to the posters who think they KNOW what is going on VS what is REALLLLY going on in the AOR...or even knowing how much a Reaper carries for it's weapons load...BTW...it DOES NOT carry 16 Hellfires...it couldn't get off of the ground...someone was questioning what an internal combustion engine was...if you don't know MATE, then go back to school and find out...or better yet...go out to your car and open the hood...THAT is an internal combustion engine...As for what the poster was stating about airspace usage and what not...he's absolutely correct...they DO tie up a bunch of space for VERY long periods of time...but are a VERY effective weapon for things such as emerging targets (Where time is of the essence) For allll of the so called 'Informed" posters who know better and more than those of us who have been there...done that...try LISTENING and reading what is said by those of us in the know...ya might just learn something...and be greatful that we're even here with you guys TRYING to let you know what's up...the poster who was stating things in detail about the reaper and how weapons are employed is letting it hang out there a bit...and oh...BTW...Old Al Sadr DID declare war on us....again...but quickly recanted...he saw what happened the last time and about lost his power base...which is all he's after anyway...as for "Chem Trails"...total Non-sense...I flew in the USAF for aver 22 years...they are called Con-Trails...as in CONDENSATION trails...the water vapor that is part of the exhaust cristalizes when it comes out of the engine and THAT is what you are seeing...it depends VERY much on atmospheric conditions and upper level winds, which is why they aren't uniform alot of the times...if you look at them through binoculars, you can actually see them rotating from the wake turbulance from the aircraft passing through the air...thoughts?

All very nice and clean, as long as the GPS satellites are not blow away, witch, most certainly, would happen on any large scale conflict, rendering all the high-precision smart stuff completely useless.

GPS satellites are in geo-synchronous orbit, a very difficult task to successfully attack them with known anti-sat capabilities. In any case, it is understood that if anyone starts taking out strategic and vital national space assets, PGMs will be the least of their worries.
