Military Pilots

Now we know that regular pilots get escorted out and in some cases get into trouble for flying into the restricted zone.

Does anybody know what would happen if Military pilots did this?


*Second Question*:

What would happen if a pilot was flying in the general direction of Area 51 and the pilot suffered loss of steering? or was unable to unlock the auto pilot? NOTE: this has happened before with aircraft before,

Second question first, if they were unable to disconnect the autopilot with the switch, all they would have to do is pull the circuit breaker and that would kill the autopilot immediately.

First question second, military pilots would face court martial if they flew into a restricted area, and would have their flight certification pulled immediately.

With regards to the Military pilots, if they were CM'ed would their papers be released under FOIA? If so, then would it reveal the name of Area 51 in black or white, or something like a code name?

It would most likely simply list the airspace that was penetrated. In the case of Area 51 it would be R4808 if I remember correctly.

You seem to know quite a lot, then again I've only just started on here, though I've been watching for some time.

Question is: If a pilot can not regsin control of their F15 F16 or whatever it is, would it be shot down? Or allowed to fly until out of fuel?

They would try to fly it to an area that was unpopulated, and then punch out and let it crash. If they were near the ocean, they'd point it out to sea, and then punch out. If it was the desert, they would make sure it was heading towards an unpopulated area then go. Once they went the plane would go out of control and crash. If they weren't sure, some pilots would ride it out to make sure, and try to get out at the last minute.

i knew what they'd do to civvie pilots, but didnt know about military pilots.

Military craft WHATEVER the airspace would be ferried down as to avoid ANY crash and publicity as the crash site would bring attention. An AF pilot already has a clearance sufficient to shield him or her from situations as such as well as regulations. Thier professionalism would make sure that any "bad" landing in a highly restricted space would be discussed BRIEFLY with superiors and disappear. We train these men and women to the edge of capability and spend inordinate amounts of funding on them...a "malfunction " of military tech would NOT result in an immediate shootdown.

If you break the box during Red Flag, you get to go home. Needless to say, this won't go over well. ATC will warn pilots when they get near the box.
