NASA scientists by using images from the orbiter, Mars Global Surveyor, had found evidence of water flowing fleetingly on the surface in July 2006. They compared images of the side of a crater taken in 2001 and 2005. The second showed gullies apparently caused by water bursting out of the crater wall.

The snippet states "apparently", that is not 100% proof.
Proof may be coming shortly if they keep to their science and not their passions.

Seriously, who cares? Do they actually think this crap is drinkable.
We have a planet here we need to take care of but haven't.
So hey, let's ruin this one in hopes we can find another for suitable life.
It'll never happen...ever.

I had not seen that particular statement before thanks for posting that. However at this point it is moot right? Are you implying that this is their modus operandi and that they are withholding more information?

They had images of something that could possibly be water. Now they have proof because they've scooped up some ice, melted it and the instruments confirm their hypothesis. As far as they knew up until that point it could of been some other type of liquid.

I don't know how many times I have said this but life on other worlds (planets) have existed even before we humans came to be, so the fact that Phoenix have found water on Mars doesn't surprise anybody but the uneducated one.
NASA wants us to think that this is the first time they know about it and that what we shall believe....well, screw NASA and everyone else that's behind hiding the truth.
I am tired of the so call "proof" of life in Mars...and blah blah blah....the REAL truth will come shortly!
