In his speech at Jacksonville, FL, he states his reasons why lifting the ban on Offshore Oil Drilling will not help low gas prices as it takes at least 10 years to get any oil.

Who woulda thunk it? A politician who's willing to consider a compromise to try and get something accomplished.

He still won't be getting my vote, but I am a little surprised that right wingers aren't a bit more happy that he'd consider a compromise. Check that. What was I thinking? Far too many are more concerned with jumping at any chance to denigrate the competition, than they are with a chance to actually get something done.

Also, when did "consider" become synonymous with "approve"? Did I miss that memo?

Okay, uhh...

McCain has been VERY against offshore drilling for many years. In the past two months he has changed his position. McCain decided that the price tag on Anwar and the coastal shelf was $4 per gallon. I would personally have acted at $3, but whatever. So Obama is now reconsidering drilling, just like McCain did a couple of months ago. When McCain did it he was considered thoughtful, taking into consideration real-time events. But now that Barack is doing it, he's flip flopping?

I don't get it. McCain was supposed to be Mr. Environment, not Obama. AND to make matters worse for McCain... When he reconsidered his position i was paying $4 per gallon. Obama reconsiders today and i'm paying $3.85 per gallon. So does that mean Obama gave in at $3.85? Does he care more about the American people because he beat McCain by fifteen cents?

You can spin this crap seven ways till Sunday, Democrat or Republican. The political process should be on network television during the weekdays because it's better than One Life to Live at this point.
