Yes, and still do understand what you mean about benevolent energy in your home. Either it was yesterday, or the day before, I was laying on my
settee, as I was in a lot of pain. My husband was sitting in the chair next to me. I dozed off, and when I woke up I saw this man standing over me in
a dark blue, short-sleeved shirt and dark jeans with dark hair. He was in about his 30's-40's. I knew it wasn't my husband, although I would
venture that he wasn't quite so tall, as my husband given how close he was when he leaned over. As with you, it was clear that he was there, but my
husband didn't see him. As I sat up, he vanished. I looked to see if it was my husband, just to be sure, and he was still in the chair. I asked my
husband, if he saw the man, and he said no.
He wasn't suprised, as one of our house guests was the man, who formerly owned the property. He moved on on New Year's Eve night just after turning
the radio on to say good-bye. He had been turning the radio on through the week at exactly midnight. On New Year's Eve, he left it a little after
midnight to let me know it was him and that he was moving on. He never showed himself as an apparition, but as an audible, evp, and a physical smack
on my backside, which stung for well over a day.
He got my attention though, although I believe he must have been a good size man given the sound and the smack that associated with the pain
afterwards. It was one of those flirtatious type smacks that husbands use to give their wives in the 1800's in private.
I never feared him for one moment, as I knew he was just trying to get my attention. The flat we are in was built in 1958 on the grounds where
Barnabas cottages once stood. There have been three other tenants recorded to have lived on this property.
We moved in two months after the previous tenant passed away, after living here for a number of years. For a while, her presence was strong in this
flat. She had been tormented by our former neighbours, and she even showed me what she went through. It is a long story; nevertheless, it turned out
to be true. For the first year, in respect of her and her memory, we didn't decorate the flat, as we took it on so soon after she passed and due to
the way she passed, we wanted to show some respect for her life, before she was terrorized by the neighbour.
Strange enough, when I mentioned it to the neighbour that I sensed that she had been traumatized prior to her death-her face was that of sheer terror.
It was like I knew something that I shouldn't have known. It wasn't too long after that the troubles with our neighbour started.
As I said earlier, it was the same neighbour, who had terrorized the previous tenant.
I would think the spirit just needs your help. I have caught shadows moving about the flat, as well. This morning, one moved in front of me. It was
long, thin and I actually was able to see it,as it passed in front of me. The moon light was coming through the window. It must have been about three
in the morning. I could see it move clearly next to my bedside table. As it cut out the light as it passed. It was thin enough it didn't obscure the
whole area. I let it move pass, before I climbed back into bed. I didn't really worry too much about it.
Shadow spirits, or Shadow People are very distinct, even in the evening from any other shadow. They seem to have substance. I saw a small roundish
one, after my cat spotted it. I didn't have a camera, but I watched it,as it moved over my guitars and under the table. Then a Shadow person went
down the hall towards our bedroom, one Christmas. I thought it was my husband. He was in the front room.
I don't know where these Shadows come from, or where they are going, or what they want. I just let them pass through. I wonder, if they are some kind
of dimensional beings that move in and out of our dimension. They are always 2D and not 3D, suggesting that they are not aware of us, then we are of
them. Also, we may be the Shadows in their dimension. It could be our dimensions intertwine somehow.
It is one of those mysteries that will elude us and never be able to quite pin down.
You did the right thing, by not getting in too much of a panick.
