Russia test fires ballistic missile: navy

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russia test fired a ballistic missile from a nuclear submarine in the Barents Sea on Friday, a spokesman for Russia's navy said.

Haven't the Russians been testing stuff like this previously?

I thought they were always testing missiles. I could be wrong.

Would the Russian's start a nuclear world war 3 when leaders in Russia, China are making tons of money and have prospects for great opportunity and a great future? They have way too much to forfeit.

Maybe it would make more sense to look where people are being oppressed, and have little economic opportunities/education, but at the same time have the technology to create nukes, and sometimes preach hatred, destruction.

Where would that be?

The Russians are developing a new Sea-Launched Ballistic Missile (SLBM) called the Bulava for their forthcoming Borei class ballistic missile submarines. Given the Russian's unwillingness to disclose ANY details about the type of missile in question, this test could be related to Bulava testing/deployment.
