wow...it's just a movie. And sure Lucius Fox goes with it but then Batman tells him to type his name after the Joker was apprehended. He does that and it fries the whole system. This is hardly desensitizing the population, quite the contrary, it shoes an objection to illegal forms of surveilance. I swear, people are seeing stuff where there isn't. I'm not saying that the gov doesn't try to slip a few things here and there to dull people's senses to what's really going on, but Batman?? seriously?
Then next we'll say that Iron Man is making our military soft because Tony Stark refused to allow Stark Industries to make weapons for the military.

a bit of vigilance is alright, it gets bad when it turns into paranoia.

how can you be so blind?

Mr.fox was opposed to the surveillance system, but then he accepted with a smile on his face, and even work for it.

Batman , whom is suppose to be the hero was very clear he wanted the surveillance system.
come on Fan Boys, stop defending this brainwashing movie and accept the facts.

And yet at the end he gave his friend the code to destroy the system cause he know it was too much for any one person or society to control (sorry for the spoiler).

So the message there would be... what? make it, but destroy it after one use?

Fox said he was going to resign if it wasn't dismantled.

Like i said, I don't doubt the government's intentions. I've read 1984, it was my favorite book. I see the concept of big brother in action, i see the rapid deterioration of our freedoms, but seriously, seeing big brother everywhere is just paranoia, and it's this state of paranoia what the government wants, paranoia and fear in the minds of everyone.

No the message should be our rights should ALWAYS remain paramount, cause once you start to infringe on them where does it end ?. This movie sends the message as long as the ends justifies means everthing is ok.

But it was still destroyed in the end.

If what you are saying about movies is correct.. than the "right" side of humanity wins out in the end.

Not trying to argue with you.. but if you are gonna stick with your theory.. you cant walk out before the credits roll.

Maybe I'm just not in the conspiracy frame of mind, but it seems like this really is only relevant if you make it relevant. If you think hard enough there are probably several movies you can find underlying political messages in, many of which were not intended to be put in there.

There are super heroes that will crash through roofs for the sake of saving the people inside the building. They'll ride their motorcycles on top of other peoples' cars for the sake of catching up to the criminal. But that doesn't necessarily mean the director is saying it's acceptable to destroy other peoples' property.

I can see how you'd interpret it this way, but I have my doubts about the director intending to mass brainwash the public.

Btw, The Dark Knight is overrated.

It seems they want to give people the impression that the surveillance technology, although wrong, is only temporary until the "terrorists" are defeated. Problem is, it's not. It's here to stay.
It seems they want people to believe that total surveillance is justified in order to deal with the Joker. The problem in real life is, "Batman" created the "Joker" in order to justify his equipment in the first place...

If you read the whole thread you would see that I said I believe big brother is real, and not going anywhere..

Those who think they are not watched and tracked in their daily mundane lives are living in a fairy tale.

I was responding to the message of the thread.. which was "brainwashing from movies", and I am sorry I just don't see it. Especially with an example that can be studied as a movie can. but thats my opinion, just like you are allowed yours.

Still waiting for the evidence..

Like I said, I believe there IS other life, but making statements of aliens eating children is a hard one to swallow without something to back it up.

Some body talking on a video is not the same thing.

I mean good lord.. i can say i have an alien living in my basement, then pay some "scientist" to back me up.. does that make it true?

We are a see it before we believe it nation.. thats just the way it is, regardless of how many links you can come up with.

Whatever. I don't have all the bits and pieces over the years. And as I said, you can believe whatever you want. Doesn't change things. And believe me, Phil Scheider was NOT killed for lying.

Big brother isn't real lol...

it might be in a technical sense but really what most people who fear big brother really never stop to think about is...

Those people... lol are Of Absolutely No Interest To Anyone let alone the Government... these people, worried about big brother all day...probably bore the crap out of their wives and kids and friends, let alone get the Government to look at them...

Lol even the most paranoid and ridiculous if they manage by posting strange stuff on the net and freaking out haha, these people get checkout and the damn fed that checks them out writes a simple statement "another harmless paranoid nerd... waste of my hour" stamps a piece of paper and your filed away never to be heard from again

Now if you take a trip to radio shack and home depot and spend a few G on the wrong stuff... I'm kind of glad this raises a flag and someone looks at it lol... Know when needs an angry redneck with 5,000 lbs of mexican firworks and 100 canisters of Gopher gas and a bucn of nails
that guy should get a vist and be asked a few questions lol

and for the Love of G-d no one is friggin using The bat Man to Mind control people, that's the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard in my life...

Maybe when MJ breaks up with Spiderman again it will be a Government statement against white women lol lol lol

When Superman flew above the Earth in the last Movie they wanted us to believe Christ was coming as an American hero and Bush personally approved it ROFL!!!

Starship troopers was all about the war too even though it was written 50 years earlier...

How friggin bizarre...

Although, it was incredibly difficult to read the OP
.....

I did see the movie, and had the same thoughts when seeing the part where they used cell phones as a sort of sonar-type device. Batman was able to use this to see through everything, and gave him the edge to kick some serious butt!

I enjoyed the movie immensely!

Don't worry too much about the government, there is nothing you can do about it!

Just relax, and wait for the NWO, it will be here soon

I just read my original post and granted there where a few mistake unless you only speak/read Russian "incredibly difficult to read the OP" would seem rather a drama queen thing to say.

Although I see and understand the point made by the OP I cant help but disagree, it has been mentioned earlier in the topic but Batman has done similar things in the comics for years now, he is the master of gadgets.

An example is the comic Kingdom Come, where Batman is old and uses a bigbrother like system of cameras and robots to fight crime. This was released in 1996 just so you know.

I would imagine the films are getting inspiration from the comics rather than the government..

I'm going to side with the people that are saying that the new Batman movie isn't about terrorism or real life. If Batman Forever was released today I bet that all of you would be saying how the freeze ray that they had was related to HAARP. Batman has always had high-tech gadgets, and has always had an enemy like the joker, who would make a modern day terrorist look like a pansy.

I think that you are getting too excited over the prospect of a conspiracy. I saw the movie and I dont feel any different on my stance of big brother. I think if it really came down to it we didnt need batman the sheeple will decide they need big brother because its too dangerous without him.

We could all be the Joker and show them they cant watch our every movement.

Not nearly as disturbing as Batman's Anti-shark repellent. Ya never know when you are going to need certain tools. It's always good to be prepared.

I'm with Batman on this one.

I actually loved this movie, and i thought it was analogous to the times in which we live.

For example, you have the Joker, who is wanting and promoting Chaos. You see this everyday on these boards, speculation for the 'End' or the worst possible situation. We are in fact on the brink of this Chaos, I wonder what would be the TRUE outcome of the 'social experiment' with the two boats. Part of us seems drawn to the Chaos.

I thought the money example was good too, assuming at least half of the stories we know to be true. Do the people running our governments and corporations just want more and more money? Or is it about something else? Chaos?
