Sheikh flies Lamborghini 6,500 miles to Britain for oil change

A rich Arab sent his Lamborghini on a 6,500-mile round trip to Britain for a service.

The £190,000 supercar was put on a scheduled flight from Qatar to Heathrow – then flown BACK after the oil check.

Money was no object as the flight would have cost the owner – thought to be a Sheikh – around £20,000.

The move sparked fury from green campaigners.

An airport worker said: “This car doesn’t have a carbon footprint – more of a crater.”

This guy ought to ask Little Al if he can join his team.

Not great advertising for Arabic mechanics either...

Wouldn´t it have been cheaper to let some Lambo mechanics fly to Qatar?

My thoughts exactly, he could have purchased thge proper spec oil and flow in a tech to do the work.

HOWEVER (there is always a however)

As the M.E. is not the most stable location, as well as being a strong danger to non-musliums.

It may have been that he could not get anyone to fly to him to do the work.

I mentioned this to a friend of mine and he had a stranger question.

Why fly it to London when it is closer to fly it to Italy-I.E. the offical lambo dudes.

Oh rich people crack me up, they really do.

The only reasons I can see for him doing this is he's a bit thick (probably the best answer) or he thought it would be funny. I mean, if money's no object, wouldn't you do stuff that made no sense just to make your day better?

I sure as hell would. Great little story.

maybe there was something in the car (
) that needed to be delivered.

was this a privet flight?

lets see.....Qatar is the staging ground for US forces.
US forces are allegedly protecting poppies fields in Afghanistan.
how do you get a refined product shipped over many many miles?

what customs inspector is going to tear a lambo apart.

hell it could be anything. cash, diamonds, bonds, documents..anything.
besides...if your rich enough to own lambos, and god knows what, im sure the sultan has his own tech.

just wield speculation of course

-----------------------edit-----------------
im seriously. how hard is it.

uncap it. pop the cork, drain the oil. unscrew fillter. screw new fillter on. cork it. replace oil. cap it.

do you even need a tech for this?

My jaw dropped when I read that - as in oh sh** - but then, I didn't read the "that" which I was waiting for.

In other words, I'll say what you may have implied by "anything" ........... isn't it time for another terrorist attack on an allied country?

Just sayin'

Very smart this Arab this is what an individual can do when he has the money
so it maybe trying to tell us that its us that have made the outrageous service possible, through high oil prices.......talk about rubbing salt in the wounds.

His money, his choice.

He is creating employment for many people by flying the Lambo to London for servicing.

If everything is on the up and up and assuming this is not a 'dry run' for something else I don't see a problem.

I do find it interesting that many people in the Middle East don't seem to like us - US, UK, Italy etc. - but they very much like the toys we build....

In the article:

His black-and-gold supercar costs £3,552 to service at an approved dealer – on top of the £20,000 to freight from Qatar to Britain.

Hopefully he got a little more than

uncap it. pop the cork, drain the oil. unscrew filter. screw new filter on. cork it. replace oil. cap it.

for his US$7,037.75.

well yea........
if i took my mazda to a dealer to replace the timing belt it would be about 300 dollars.

or i could do it myself for about 30 dollors for parts.

like i said.....it was just wield speculation. i hope he enjoys every dollar he paid for his oil change.

Maybe this Shiek isn't a believer in global warming being caused by humans (I dont really belive it is either) and so thought he would stick it to the environ-mental-ists by flying his Lambo over to London for servicing rather than flying someone there to do it.
