Is the US really worth saving?

I've heard a lot about the conspiracy theories of a government take over including being sent to camps and an economic collapse.

But my question for you on ATS is the US really worth saving? Bush elected two times, and still many supporting McCain. Racism is still here. Sweat shops are still being supported. Congress is doing nothing.

I work with customers....they all come in and say "I need this.....I need that" and barely talk to me. I live in a wealthy place and they demand I do everything they want as they want it or they roll their eyes at me or talk to my boss. Even though I am doing the best I can. It just seems they are so brainwashed. They come in and just expect everything to fall into place for them with their "I needs....". I feel like we're just a country of sheep. That we're all sleeping and no ones waking up. So why the hell if they're this ignorant should we even fight?

With your outlook on this topic no country would be worth saving. There are bad things happening in every country on this planet.

As for your job, if your getting paid to work then im sure your customers and boss expect you to do your job, whatever that is. Most people go into stores to purchase products and go on their way, not to make friends with all the employees.

Why should we fight? Fight for change? Well, because not everyone just stands around and goes with the flow. There are people that are clueless and people that are completly aware of the situation in this country.

Lastly, speaking of ignorance, is it not ignorant to judge a person based on meeting them for a few minutes during a business transaction?

G-d why do you hate your life so much?

I agree with the people being sheep part...

But gosh thats every where, that's what makes life great when your awake...you get to run around your whole life "peopkle tipping" because they are all asleep while walking...

I think, that maybe you and alot of other people drawn here are people coming awake and I think it was kind of depressing for me too at first...

But when you realize how easy life can be once your fully awake and really start... living, that's when you'll thank g-d for the life you have...

your probably just stilllistening to people or trying to get them to wake up...

and really mostly it's like being in a video game... and they are NPC's they don't have the proper commands to respond bro...

so tip em over and laugh or spin em around whatever you want....

That you come awake is all that matters...

It is a conundrum. It's not as if the US is a dictatorship. IMO if people really wanted change Ron Paul would have been named the Republican nominee in a landslide and Dennis Kucinich would have been named the Democratic nominee hands down. We went from a field of really good candidates and ended up with the absolute dregs on both sides.

To me this says that people absolutely do not want change; they want someone to lie to them. This being the case, my sympathy for the American people seems to be running short.

I live in the USA, and I'm not brainwashed. By saying the USA should not be saved you would be giving the only resistance force the world has against terrorism to the terrorists. The terrorists would kill you and everyone else and they could do it with no resistance with us gone. You've been reading too much anti-US propaganda on the internet. Get a grip on reality.

Oh yes, the US is worth saving. All that wealth, all those resources, that great experiment in secular, constitutional democracy... yes, the world needs that, and it's definitely worth saving.

Does the world need Americans, though? Ah, now there's a question worth pondering.

I don't believe what the media says. I believe that these terrorists are acting out on their own for their own purposes. I believe they were originally supported by our government because they were fighting against the Soviet Union but when they came to realize what our government was doing to them that's when they decided to want to destroy us and our allies. They realized the methods our government was using in forcing them to be partners were evil, so, now, they're rebelling against us.

If America didn't ever exist in the first place all of you would be under Britain/Russian control. More than likely.

My parents, grandparents and great-grandparents grew up under British control. As far as I know, they were all quite happy with it. But that's neither here nor there. I applaud your patriotism (you are clearly an American) but you seem not to have grasped the meaning of my post. I have enormous respect for your country and those who made it what it is; I merely wonder whether its inheritors deserve it.

And while you're considering that, ponder this, also: if America didn't exist, those terrorists you're so concerned about wouldn't either.

Hmmm, I don't believe is Anti-US Propaganda, it's what the US has done to its self with "we own the world" theory. US have put their noses where it doesn't belong to get what they want. Just ask Bush about it, the true terrorist in here is not the rest of the world, they are the leaders of US (ie. BUSH, father and son)

MEDIA transmits ONLY what the government wants you to see or hear. I am not against US but against their believes themselves. The US is not the ONLY country in this world that can put a fight against terrorism, yes they do have the toys to do whatever they please (and they are doing it) but it doesn't mean that they are the ONLY ONE as you are claiming them to be.

So, the sentence you mentioned about not being brainwashed?....yeah, think again! Think about what you just said and the comments that follows that statement.

well if it falls, its the fault of most of our population for letting it happen.

apathy, disbelief, suspicion, reliance on and the expectation of the government to do everything without their own interaction is all there to cause it.

Just because the media says it doesn't necessarily not make it true. Al-quaeda has been the US government's enemy for a long time. I came to believe Al-quaeda as the enemy after having put a long amount of thought into it. Yes, while Georgy and his crew are terrorists themselves, Osama Bin Laden are terrorists too. Who do I chose to support and stand behind? I chose to stand behind the government because they are supposed to defend our country, and, for the fact that these terrorists are real enemies, regardless of whatever theories you spout of that you randomly generate, terrorists are enemies. They have their own motives for doing things. I know the media is lying about the motives behind why the terrorists are doing these things, but, I do know that the terrorists still hate us because they don't simply like us and they want us gone so we won't interfere with their plans of taking over the world. I'm not saying our government doesn't have plans for taking over the world, but who would you side with?

Don't lump the entire country and all of it's residents into this category of being less than worthy of saving. Yes, it is obvious that a lot of people, far too many, have come to the point of being subject to the garbage that the government and mainstream media would prefer everyone absorbs. But there are also a lot of good people who have not been sucked into being under that control.

I can't believe anyone would actually question whether or not a country of 300+ million people is simply not worthy of keeping around. You need to have more faith in humanity, friend.
