There is a body. The other thread on this article links the reports of what happened with the corpse here, bottom of page 7 www.abovetopsecret.com... . It's not photoshopped. It's a raccoon dude. Look at the link I posted on page 2 of this thread twice.

Definitely strange looking.. but unless I was able to actually examine the 'corpse' I call hoax.

This looks real too, but it isn't.

Since it looks like a dead raccoon, I'm going to say no one went out on a limb to fake it. The only thing I want to know is what caused the damage to the snout.
(And why is this thread still active? Shouldn't this thread be moved to the other one?)

Awesome. I always wondered what happened to Snarf from Snarfquest.

If it's a raccon, and it looks very convincing. probably the same damage that knocked out all the teeth damaged the top jaw as well. Maybe a car accident or scavenging after death.

Koala bears do not have tails like this.

Hmm you're right it could be a raccoon. But why it would be bald is a mystery in itself. I've never seen a raccoon's face without fur, so it's hard to judge what they'd look like when they're not all furry and cute. That face looks just weird to me, I can't say I'm convinced it's what a raccoon would look like, but that looks like the most sound explanation at the moment.

Fur tends to fall off as the animal rots. Friend of mine owned a farm where occasionally rats would fall into the horse trough. Generally, the fur would start falling off relatively quickly in the water.
Seen the same with dogs and boars actually.

It's definitely not a beak, it is the exposed bone of the snout of some mammal most likely.

It could very well be a raccoon, but I actually think it resembles a lion more. Just look at the color of the tail and the right hind leg... the bulky-ness of the body... the eyebrows... the skull structure...

Also, the front legs are bound together. A lion with his legs bound together makes more sense than a raccoon with it's legs bound together.

It looks like it is wearing a shred of a sleeve on it's arm, like only part of the cuff to a sleeve. How weird.

ok, I'm now going to state that the whole thing is a scam. either a photoshop job or a model.

I've come to this conclusion based on one little concept. Any time something washes up on shore, the local cops are called. There's no body to examine which would mean that the person who took the picture, found something freakish and strange and...LEFT IT THERE. Scientists are looking at pictures. Nobody has the body. If this was that strange, someone would have called the cops.

Let's see, you find a dead dog on the beach, you call the local authorities to remove it. You find a beached whale? Same thing. You find a strange, hairless animal and you take a picture of this oddity and you leave it? No. not how it works.

On the east end of long island, people call the local authorities when they find a dead bird or squirrel in their driveway as it might mean some kind of disease. So, when you find a dead unidentifiable animal you leave it? no you don't.

this is fake.

If thats a turtle, it seems like the elbows on the front fins? are backwards and it appears to have claws, like a dog and a turtle's skin wouldn't separate from the shell like that. (would be exposing innards)

Many people would do that, you can't judge evryone the same. There are plenty of farmers and people that finddecomposed whatevers that didn't call the cops. I can't tell you how many times i have had fishermen tell me something like that and just thought it was strange and walked away.

That mermaid looks like a plaster cast, especially like around the chest area.

I just watched the CNN clip on this thing. They have the woman who found the animal and took the picture and they have the lifeguard who took the animal away. What did he do with it? kept it outside to lot it fully decompose. one of his friends is wearing the band fromt he animal's arm around his neck and these clowns were on camera playing with the bones.

seems a bit ridiculous to me. I still say most people would alert the authorites but lifeguards? I can't imagine the protocol when something dead washes up on the beach is to move it and play with it.

I can't believe that as a Admin you don't read the threads your posting on!

Link was provided already confirming the story on the corpse and what happened with it. And it's already a confirmed dead raccoon. high res pictures of lower jaw and teeth are a 100% match, as well as paws, hair ears and everything else.

It's...a...dead...rotting...hairless...facially injured...raccoon.

I can't believe you are all still debating this.
