Is Anybody Out There?

Good day to everyone out there. I am new to this sight. I have been a member for just about 2 weeks now. I guess I am just lurking in the shadows and reading everyone's thoughts. I am very interested in all of the topics that are discussed here. I have had my own share of paranormal experiences but after reading how quickly everything seems to turn into a prove it or you get ripped apart scenario I will just leave my thoughts and stories in my head for now.
I do enjoy reading all the thoughts of people. I just notice that it seems like there are many arguments over the topics at hand. I guess what I see as a new person is that if you don't complete proof then you get ripped to shreds. It makes it very intimidating for someone to just discuss their thoughts. Maybe I am just not looking in the right areas though.
I joined this community to expand my mind. To look for truth from another source if you will. I am amazed at all of the intelligent people in here and at the same time scared of all the things that get talked about.

What can be taken as an argument could also be perceived as a spirited debate

the ATS Handbook can answer a lot of your questions about the site, it's quite informative and helpful if you have questions regarding your Avatar, Signature, or purchasing perks in the ATS Store.

Points are a valuable commodity around ATS and some members want to know how to gain points quickly. There are several ways to do this. One is to podcast, Podcasting if you don't already know is kind of like making your own little radio show about some subject that you’re interested in. Also contributing to TinWiki is a great way to make some points in a big hurry. Also by joining up with Twitter, you can get a lot of points right of the bat. In BTS one can also find fun games and contests that are happening now and also get you those points.

One should also familiarize themselves with the Terms And Conditions Of Use for proper ATS etiquette and site rules, this helps everyone avoid problems.

Hiyah and welcome to ATS...

You don't get ripped to shreds unless you post outlandish claims and boasts that you cannot back up with facts in most forums.

There are specific forums for you to place more exotic threads in, that don't require "proof" or "back-up" articles etc. A moderator from the site will hopefully be along soon to give you helpful links etc. If you feel the need to post more exotic threads, I suggest you check out the skunkworks section
