I read somewhere how many people you need as believers in a certain thing before you can make it a religion, cannot remember now how many and I cant find it on google, must be putting in the wrong key words.

Anyway the reason I wanted to know, was does the amount of people that that now believe in aliens match up to the number of people to make a religeon, if so then could someone legally start a new religion of alien believers, and have their own rules and laws that they could legally get away with, like for instance having certain days off school, having their own holidays etc.

Being able to get away with certains thing that you might not do if it was not your religeion, etc.

I am not wanting to start a religeon or anything like that, it was just a passing thought, I am sure someone on ATS has an answer.

Aliens can not be god, they like us are part of the grand universal conciseness, which is the universe. The illusion is separation from nature, us human ,like the aliens are the universe experiencing itself on many dimensions of reality. So conciseness on a grand scale is god per say, we are just like small parts of the hole. Anyways i could be wrong, but what ever I'm comfortable with the perception of reality i have established in my mind, infinite and unique.

Aliens cannot be classified as a belief:

Mankind is one "alien lifeform" known to exist if we look at it from an outside perspective, which proves aliens exist mathematically. Therefor, aliens cannot be classified as "a belief" since we ourselfs are living proof of the opposite.

Thanks never went to deeply into the thought, but yes your right aliens cannot be gods, but they can be creators I suppose, if aliens created us, and put us here on earth, that means the god we believe as our creator, is just imaginary, and the god that created the aliens would be the true god.

That is unless the aliens do not have a god and know a different way that life was created in the universe.

Dont reckon I will think anymore deeper or I will have to reach for the headache tablets.

Not a relegious person myself, but sometimes you ponder, which lead me to the starting of this post.

Think I will leave it at that, not unless you cruel people are going to give me something else to think about, lol.

Believing in aliens doesn't have rituals/churches/threats of hell/clergy/diety, so no, it's not a religion - it's an exceptance of something so glaringly obvious. As obvious as there being Carbon/Methane on other planets in the Universe.

You could argue that Global warming is a religion. Al Gore is the prophet, 'The Inconvienient Truth' is the bible.

True, but who's saying we'd worship them (like God's), even if they did create us? They might appear to have "god-like" powers compared to our current technology but i'm sure if we were to go back in time and reveal our technology to the humans of 500 years ago, we would also be revered as Gods. However, I think people are less likely to fall for the 'God' thing these days.

en.wikipedia.org...

A religion needs defined understandings (belief system). Just because a number of people believe in "aliens" doesn't make it a religion. I've seen people that believe aliens are puppets (and/or puppetmasters) for the boogyman "NWO". While others believe they are doing their own thing passing through and yet others believe they are Gods, Saviors, and what ever else you can imagine.

Religions need be established over time, they don't spring up. Religions start as cults move to being sects and then graduate into religions.

So lets say aliens were visiting and showing themselves to the Incas and or Aztec, and all those peoples worshipped the aliens and called them gods, is that not a religeon.

So if the aliens had a leader with a name, Kryll for instance who gave the orders and it was him who came up with the idea of how to create us the humans, could we not worship then, the god Kryll.

I think I am getting out of lateral thinking now, and gobblldegook thinking instead, I dont know, maybe I should stop now, in fear of sounding like a crank.

Go back to reading posts instead of making them.
