''

Citing "brutal crimes," President Bush on Monday authorized the execution of an Army private convicted of a spree of rapes and murders in North Carolina in the 1980s.

It was the first time a commander in chief has affirmed a military death sentence since 1957, half a century ago.

The solider, Ronald A. Gray, committed the crimes in the Fayetteville area while stationed at Fort Bragg.
Gray has been on the military's death row at Fort Leavenworth, Kan., for 20 years.'

When I read the headline, I was expecting it to be for treason or something. Then I read the crimes that the guy committed and honestly, he is certainly a good candidate for execution, if that is your thing. I can't really argue with the decision.

When I first heard about this, I thought the soldier had been fighting in Iraq/Afghanstan, and if so, I assumed it was going to piss a lot of people off throughout the world!

"I'm sending you to war, fail me and I will have you executed!", type scenario!

Anyway, I'm not a fan of execution.
