With 911 you had flight instruction manuals and the koran found in the boot of a hire car, with arabic people boasting in strip clubs of how america will pay.
In Madrid you have a "stolen van" with evidence of explosives and arabic material and plus of course the koran.
So it looks like the bombs dont need investigating they left all the clues so we already know who did it.
I think it will be time for a grainy bin laden video to be delivered to the us controlled al jezeera tv station telling the world he did it.
To be investigating "terrorism" these days must be real smooth and easy with all the tell tale clues that are left behind
just fill the paperwork in and your done.
I see a pattern emerging, these pesky "arabic terrorists" are real good at destruction but real poor at covering their tracks .
If you see a copy of the koran run for your life

On the contrary, I think groups leave messages intentionally. They absolutely want us to know they did it. More "terror" that way! Just like some groups call and announce responsibility.

What seem to be missing here is any suicude attached to the bombings. But, this may be uncovered at a later time.

It's rally no good to do a bad thing if you can't take credit, and gloat a bit. It gives you more power, IMHO

I can't figure out why Al-Qaeda, if they are really behind it, would attack Spain. True, Spain is involved in the War on Iraq, but they have a small role. Why not go after Britian or the U.S.?

Then again, maybe there is no reason, and they just wanted to cause more terror.

people forget,
faith is really beginning to wane in alqaida now, you are likely to see an encore, possibly something bigger than 9/11...god bless america, for starting this crap.
now, the rest of the world's likely to suffer(you cannot fight an abstract noun...i.e "terrorism" exists, and will exist, no strings attached.)

When they tried to take down the "towers" the first time it was not a suicide attempt.

ALQ does not always have to have suicide bombers to attack the target. That would make their actions too predictable if you were always looking for some suspicous person with a bulge around their waist or carrying an odd backpack.

So they use a variety of attack methods to keep people from devising a way to stop them.

This is why they are so dangerous, because unless you are a terrorist you have no idea which way they are going to attack you or what to look out for.

Sure the organisation involved wants to claim the glory,
but the way to do that is not to leave forensic evidence behind, it is just plain stupid to leave a paper trail that could lead back to the actual bombers then compromise the whole organisation. When the IRA were bombing the UK they did not leave behind such tell tale clues, they made phone calls to claim the credit, even ringing before the bombs went off in some cases. The glory is still there they just didnt compromise operations by leaving such absolute cast iron clues behind like in this case.
The only time clues are left like that are if you want the authorities to think that way, who is going to look beyond the van and arabic connection now ?
look at what is being spoken by our polititions and read between the lines
www.ananova.com...
Tony Blair the king of spin should know better than fighting terrorists with more fire, i mean we fought the IRA for decades and they are releasing people who took part in appalling bombings just like Madrid as part of a peace deal
you do not beat terrorists with aggression you beat them with diplomacy and compromise but that aint part of the agenda, i fear more draconian laws are needed to protect us.

has anyone ever considered that those bits of "evidence" were planted????? (just a thought)

IMO of course they were planted thats the point im trying to make, its really pathetic for highly trained terrorists to leave behind such clues for the police to follow, its like a childs game of hide and seek.

Our governments and our media have taken hold of this story and used it to instill fear into you. This forum is an example of what a good job they have done. Everywhere you look you can see people blaming Islamic extremism for the Madrid massacre. People are becoming more frightened and more unsure of themselves. In the long term, this suits their aims.
When the dust settles and Al Qaeda is discovered to be unconnected to the bombings this week, people will only remember the fear that they felt. Further unease will be engrained into the mass psychology.

The media has hidden the most important facts about this atrocity from the people behind accusations against Al Qaeda.

Fact: Eta recently declared a policy of hitting civilian targets. Including tourist areas, public amenities etc. It had already bombed an airport last year.

Fact: Eta is being systematically dismantled by the present Spanish authority. Eta were being forced into a corner and a cornered dog normally bites.

Fact: Eta was caught trying to smuggle bombs onto these trains 3 months ago.

Fact: Eta was recently caught smuggling a truckload of explosives into Madrid.

Fact: Forensic analysis has already begun and the explosives match quantities already believed to be in Eta
hands.

Fact: The Al Qaeda claims come from a group in Canada which spuriously claimed the New York power outages as their work.

Fact: Although not on the same scale as yesterday's atrocity Eta has shown no compunction about hitting vulnerable civilian targets before. In 1987, twenty-one shoppers were killed in an attack on a Barcelona supermarket.

Western governments and the media will have you believe that this was the work of Al Qaeda as it suits their purposes for the time being.

No fear in me sorry. this whole charade is as transparent as the window in my living room.
I agree that AL Qaeda will get the blame regardless, the stolen van is the trump card to be played over and over until they are guilty by repetition and not evidence

X-factor, your beliefs are all and well with you and others, but here at ATS, we love the motto Deny Ignorance, and since that is the creedo of this site, could you please provide proof or evidences to back your assertions or theory(s)?

You are stating:
"No fear in me sorry. this whole charade is as transparent as the window in my living room.
I agree that AL Qaeda will get the blame regardless, the stolen van is the trump card to be played over and over until they are guilty by repetition and not evidence"

And you are stating this as if it is undeniable, empirical, 100% fact.....is it? If so, back it up! If you are in "the know", please enlighten us as to your sources and evidences to make such claims, other than your biased assessments and opinions.

One other point I feel I should add.
The bombs that were planted on the trains in the foiled attempt at Christmas were timed to go off at 4.05pm on Christmas Eve.
For those of you who say that the number of deaths caused in this attack is disproportionate - imagine what the death toll would have been if that attempt had succeeded.

that is my opinion of the situation. does it mean its wrong because i'm biased?
ALL i was trying to say was that this bombing was a way of perpetuating the war on terror and to ME it is blatantly transparent, and if i am the only one that thinks that way then im really glad to be in a minority of one.
I do not think these attacks no matter how many tragic deaths there was benefit Al Qaeda in any way , in fact they are really helpfull to the bush administration , a sort of told you so mentality
