Tongue - The srongest muscle in the body?

A friend of mine asked me today what is the strongest muscle in the body. I answered I don't know. I knew that he's gonna answer me that it's tongue.. Why didn't I answer myself is that the tongue isnt A muscle. It consists of sixteen muscles. How can the tongue be called the strongest muscle in the body? It's more like 16 strongest muscles in the body.

But no, I have no answer to your question.

The strongest muscle in your body is either the quadriceps or the gluteus maximus. (depending on the person)

The strongest muscle in your body, pound for pound, is the uterus.

The strongest muscle in your body, by work done over your entire lifetime, is the heart.

OP, put your tongue under a barbell... then we'll more accurately find out.

I don't know how strong the tongue is but I do know it's the most powerful muscle as it can get you in more trouble than you can get out of.

Many a slip between the tongue and the lip.

strongest muscle cannot be determined becoz there are many ways to measure the strength that is dynamic strength ,elastic strength etc...............

depends on the person I guess.. I know for a fact my mother in law has one heck of a strong tongue, since she uses it so much
