Think about it! Without words there would only be physical pain, but because we have language that leads to mental pain. Which is much more painful then physical pain. Don't yall agree?

I don't think words create mental pain. However, I do think language has inhibited our ability to use the full creative potential of our minds. Limiting us English speakers to really only being able to think in combinations of only 24 symbols. Think about it! How much of your thoughts are actually visualizations of an idea, and not just words describing the idea?

Very few people can think visually with any amount of effectiveness.

Who knows how much misunderstanding and chaos this has caused?

EDIT:

You ARE bringing up a very important subject of discussion, though.

People don't even give their words a thought. They just accept that, in order to know, you must be able to think grammatically.

I mean, how many times a day do certain people tend to rip on a poster for a simple spelling error? Who cares if you spell it right?

I look at language like guns. Guns don't kill people, people kill people. Language doesn't hurt people, people hurt people. Stop blaming the method and start placing reponsibility where it belongs.

True I agree. But I think certain words should be taken out of language for good, like curse words, anything that can be use 4 negative means. Although I use curse words myself, but that is because I'm WEAK, as well as other people, who use them against others.

Though language is inherently viewed as special, beautiful aspects to differing cultures... I can't believe, at times, that I cannot communicate with somebody due to the language barrier. I have resorted to grunts and pointing and drawing and gestures, but I cannot hold a meaningful conversation with billions of people!

This is a problem, no? So we speak through art and music...

Communication is vital. But thinking about what we may have developed to communicate outside of language... this is interesting.
