Nuclear chief: No 'smoking gun' in Iraq ? What now ?

BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- The U.N. agency searching for evidence of a nuclear weapons program in Iraq said Monday that so far it has not found evidence of one.

Mohamed ElBaradei, director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency, said inspectors have found no proof that Iraq lied about nuclear weapons in its declaration on weapons of mass destruction presented to the United Nations.

Iraqi officials said the declaration stated that Iraq has no prohibited weapons.

ElBaradei said the agency's laboratory tests of samples taken in Iraq so far have found nothing suspicious.

There currently is no "smoking gun," ElBaradei said, but he noted that inspections are still in their early stages.

I wonder what Bush will do if the inspectors don't find a "smoking gun". Is there a Plan B ?

Might be a good thing. The international community will probably bring GWB to his knees. Lift sanctions, etc. etc., allow the Russians to take the oil(Lukoil firm) and so forth. I would laugh.

This is providing that Saddam starts behaving afterwards. But more people have shown to be able to a good boy(Ghadaffi).

Nukes aren't the only thing they're looking for in Iraq, try chemical and bio weapons too. Iraq can hide their bio/chemical weapons in containers the size of an oven. Only a moron would believe UN inspectors are guaranteed to find those containers the size of an oven in a country the size of Iraq over a few weeks.

By the way, we've never claimed they had nukes....just that they were trying to develop a nuclear weapons program. On the otherhand, bio/chemical weapons in Iraq are a known fact, but you can go along and downplay their importance.
