Known hoax? Is there more of the tape? Where is it from? etc.?

Well to be honest it looks like it has pseudo aging effects added to the video.
To cover up the fakery.
And although it looks like a sausage hanging from a tree.
Its really to short and to vague of a video to even get a decent look at whats around the object.
I say fake, just my decision, for me.

I'd have to agree, who records just a few seconds of footage? The instinctive thing to do would be to film until the thing dissapeared. I say farce.

Actually on the left side, I could see a string, or what I thought was a string. Didn't bother to pause it and investigate further.

I vote definitely fake.

This film was shot by Joseph L. Ferriere, former radio announcer for WJAR
radio station in Woonsocket, Rhode Island on July 1967 down the road toward
Cumberland, east Woonsocket area. Ferriere also took seven photos with his
Pho-Tak 620 Reflex No. 1 camera. According to Ferriere the long cigar shaped
craft apparently launched a smaller disc shaped craft from an open hatch on the
bottom and the long craft had a strange piston-like device pumping in and out.
This case is one of the 60's classic cases in Ufology.
