Not Till The Fat Lady Sings

Well it looks like maybe the Fat Lady has not started singing after all.

Yes, Yes, I know it is a very long shot, still it bears watching.

She may have given up, but a few of Hillary Rodham Clinton ’s people haven’t.

But there are Clinton supporters clinging to the hope that if her name is placed in nomination and the roll call of the states is conducted, she might — might — still win.

Heidi Li Feldman, a Georgetown University law professor, insists there’s still “no way of predicting” the outcome should there be a fair vote. That’s because Obama has not secured enough pledged delegates to ensure the magic number of 2,118 needed to claim victory;

“If they had a meaningful vote, I have no idea who would win,” Feldman says. “But I know that if Sen. Obama were sure he would win, there wouldn’t be a negotiation” about Clinton’s role at the convention.

It just never ends

The more and more and more time i've invested into clinton, mccain, and obama, the more and more sick and tired of the whole thing i'm starting to get.

It happens every election year

Around Sept. usually - i say "OMG" just get it over with.

My guess is around september, we'll see a shift in the republican party...who knows, maybe "ron paul makes a comeback" or something. one thing i've noticed however

it doesnt matter which candidate starts strongest
it'll always shift direction nearer the end.

The good thing for John McCain is that he's had all this time while obama and clinton fought, and now he has more time while Obama fends off the garbage.

But i hope he's using his time wisely and preparing for any and all things possible

what if obama opt's to have clinton as a vice president?

would this seal the deal for the democrats?

i for one dont think that would be his choice, and i have to wonder if clintons pride would allow her to accept the offer if it were made.

more than likely it would draw most of her support to his cause. i guess we will just have to wait and see.

talking about makeing history. our first black president and female vice president all at the same time.

i was listening to talk radio on a six hour trip to AL and they were talking about a large number of hiliary supporters defecting to McCain just so they could vote aginst him. thats what made me think of it. wonder if anyone else has more imput on this...

I think some Hillary supporters have gone to McCain, but many if not most have remained with the Democratic party.

Clinton's supporters may be wishing for a last-minute victory, but Hillary herself has graciously conceded and asked them to go with Obama. She's even attended some campaign events with him. I don't think she has any illusions of a miraculous intervention, but she probably wouldn't refuse if it should happen.

Does anyone know how Hillary voted on FISA? I know Obama is taking a pounding for reversing his stance on that, curious how Clinton voted.

I believe she voted against it. I'm not sure why Obama reversed his original position; many of his supporters are disappointed.

good point. im not sure what % may defect but i have heard from a few sources on both the republican and democrat side that a fair number of clinton supporters were bitter.

is it enough to make a huge diffrence? well that i dont really know and i dont think any of us really will until the election.

at this point i agree. i could use a 4 year break from all this political hoop la. and the mud slinging..

In this election cylce, the 'republicans' have screwed things so badly the last 8 years, that this election HAS to swing to the left.

Well, the dems swung WAY left, and the Republican party is choosing a classical liberial in John McCain.

So we have an election against a clasic left-liberal, and a Far Left-Socialist...
