Ever considered sentry gun protection? Check this vid out (don't forget to turn the sound up!) I wouldn't have even thought about it but it would be unreal for protecting your property in Sit X eh?

For your viewing pleasure

Interesting vid. Hopefully it has some remote way of turning it off, or the folks that use it are gonna have a bad day. Should also have programming which tells it "don't shoot at the house, ya nitwit machine".

I can see an application where nuisance or pest animals might be concerned, or "armed" with a strong spotlight/alarm, to home in on intruders and backlight them.

Holycow! This guy did a terrific job. The tracking software is superb. I want to know:

- How much pressure is required to move the gun like it does?
- How much weight can the servo take?
- How long it took him to program such a thing? And how big is the program?

I always wanted to do something like this but on an RC car/tank.

The gov't should contact this guy.

As for SitX application, I would use it for sure. Create kill zones around my house. Inject pepper spray into each paintball. Have a remote control to turn on and off each sentry unit.

I wonder if the guy will use a different targeting device against smoke.

With a good set of baseplates to anchor the device down you could re-engineer one of those for firearm based weapons.
A heavy tracked RC machine could do the same.
Good vid.
