Are we sure that it's Sirius? Not that I'm doubting you, but that other site listed here tells me that if it's a star at some distance away it
would be twinkling and this is not? The best time to see it is about 8:30pm, it is on the opposite side of the sky to the moon at this time (I'm
sorry that I can't use the propper phrases or words to describe this properly
)
