So.. yeah maybe not the best timing for this sort of post. I'll just spit it out.. I am 32 years old, I have had something similar to this hapen to
me 3 other times in my life. Last night, I laid down, the next thing I knew my mind was utter chaos. It was like radio static on full blast in my
brain, but even that isn't a perfect description. The entire event is very hard to describe, since I was in a half sleep, but I'll do my best. It
truly felt like something was trying to invade my mind. It wasn't unfamiliar, but it hasn't happened since I was 19 years old. I could not move a
muscle. I laid there trying to scream for my wife, who wasnt even here. I finally did get up (I am currently staying at a friends place) I wrapped the
blanket around me and made my way to the hall. I tried yelling for my friend to please come help me. But I couldn't. I can't even explain it
properly.. I'm sorry. The feeling is pretty much indescribable. I finally fought the feeling off, I found myself on the futon in a cold sweat,
checked the clock it was less than an hour since I had laid down. I'm no expert on sleep patterns, but I am under the assumption that REM sleep takes
a bit longer than that to kick in. (Yeah I know where assuming gets folks) Anyhow.. like I said this is the 4th time this happened. The first time I
was 5 or 6.. I posted briefly about it in one of those 'strangest things that you experienced' threads. I was at my grandma's place I woke up to
see a white thing next to my bed. No features, looked vaguely humanoid but i could also see it in the dark and tell it was white as white gets.. I
laid there frozen until I was able once again to get up. I remember being a kid I figured I could run through a ghost, which is what i assumed it was.
Well, I hit something. The wall, the thing.. no idea. But I hit the floor, ran to get my grandma, when we came back in there.. of course.. nothing.
2nd time I was maybe 13 or so, at my other grandma's place. It happened once again in bed. I didn't think much of it, but I did talk to my dad about
it, and he related to me that he had pretty much identical experiences at some point in his life. Also, I didnt see any extra beings that time. 3rd
time I was 19, laid down for a nap on my friends couch in the middle of the day. They all left to go somewhere .. same damn thing. Static in my brain
full volume. felt like an intrusion into my mind. It's tough to shake this sort of thing. I wonder if I'm utterly insane or what, or maybe it's
something hereditary. I wonder if it's ghosts or aliens. I honestly do not know. And yeah.. I have read all about sleep paralysis, trust me. I don't
know what else to say really.. I can't prove anything. So don't ask. I just wondered if this is any sort of common experience or if I need to commit
myself.
