Thankyou for your reply timelike.

I'm aware that a lot of people used these lanterns over the summer, I saw a lot being released myself and i'm sure the majority of reported sightings, especially media covered sightings, were lanterns.

The footage I posted stood out from these as it's not your average, floaty, orange light.

It would be great to establish whether this is definitely your lantern so need to know which type of lantern was used.

Any of these familiar?

www.ribbands.co.uk...

Also, and probably most important, did you film the footage as well?

Thanks for your time.

Well thats the point- they don't look like floaty orange lights!!! For a start they come in a variety of colours, and their motion in the sky looks very odd- they appear to hang in the sky for a while then brighten up and zoom a huge distance across the sky and stop again. This is because the wind catches them, causes the flame to brighten up and carries them along quite a way before stopping again.

I've been an amateur astronomer for 15 years now, and if I saw something like that, I would have to stop for a closer look. To me, these things look so incredibly real- better than any CGI in fact.

I'm pretty sure your original post is mine- the behaviour and colours are consistent. I did make a short bit of film and if I have time I will try to post it.

RE: www.ribbands.co.uk

The ones I got were yellow, but about the same size. They are very similar to this though, yes.

If you could stick the video up that would be great.

When I saw them being released they were the white ones, but even when they'd gained altitude they retained the orange colour.

The silver colour shown in the video puzzles me, as well as the close up view giving the impression of more than one object.

It would be interesting to see if your footage shows this.

I'd have thought that if any lanterns would show this silver colour it would be the blue ones, not yellow.

What a wonderful video of everyday aircraft

Two lights on what are probably the wings, and if you look closely, a single flashing red light... My guess is it's a plane.

OMG I DISCOVERED SOMETHING GO ME!!

The video posted here (i looked at the enhanced version) was hoaxed by the same guy that did another video, from the same location, using the same method.

Here is your video.

and now the original hoax.

Its the same guy, same place, same method.

There is also an ATS thread about that triangle UFO, I'm sure some of you have already seen it.
